A historical novel with a well-constructed plot and pace of a thriller, offering the reader fascinating information about the Eleusinian Mysteries, symposia in ancient Athens, the life of the Greeks 2,300 years ago, as well as the life and work of the great philosopher.

The action unfolds during the winter of 330-329 BC in Athens, which is plagued by a series of alarming thefts. The philosopher Aristotle and his student Stephanos investigate a burglary turned murder in the home of one of their Athenian neighbors. From the moment Stephanos announces his decision to reveal the culprit, he begins to experience various hardships, even as he prepares for his wedding. Bodies continue to pile up, and everyone wonders who will be the next victim. Stephanos marries Philomela, who hails from Eleusis, the site of the eponymous mysteries. Stephanos, Philomela, and Aristotle decide to be initiated. During their initiation, they discover that Eleusis holds many secrets. The revelation of the truth will occur on the night of the mystical celebration.
