Description

It is historically established that "What is and what does EAM want" by Dimitris Glinos and "Speech in Lamia" by Aris Velouchiotis are the two top documentaries that constitute the ark of memory of the epic 1940-'45, the second Greek assault on the heavens after 1821, in the dark years of the German Occupation.
Although they are two different texts - the programmatic declaration of a pan-national - popular front the first, a speech to the citizens of Lamia the second, they confirm the estimation that the leadership of the national liberation movement defended the same valuable places. And it is this starting point that leads them to the highly revealing and crucial findings regarding the role of the foreign factor (the European "lords") and their local collaborators in the establishment and imposition of the "New Order".
Their conclusions are clear. Heterodetermination, metapraxis, and voluntary servitude are basic perennial wounds for Greece and the Greeks. Support for our own forces is what is needed and required. The unfinished revolution of 1821 makes it imperative to achieve the goals of National Independence - Democracy - Social Justice. This duty cannot be accomplished by the old world, but by the New one that envisions a new Greece and is determined to fight for it.
Systematic reading of our texts reveals that the two leaders become carriers of a new proposal for Greek political realities. Coming into direct conflict with the dominant metapractic spirit, they manage to establish a separate system of principles and values with a clear patriotic, democratic, social, and humanistic orientation.

And it is these elements that make these texts not just documents of a recent historical past, but texts of the present and the future; milestones and landmarks in the long struggle of the Greek people for the conquest of independence and self-sufficiency.
