Yudora Welty said it: "Home is the most dangerous place", which means... our home is the forest with the wolves. It's hard for us to accept that, so we roam inside it naked and unarmed. Foolish, touchingly vulnerable. Maybe because for centuries our home, we say, is our refuge and, as we know, what we call things has more weight than what they really are. Or maybe because whoever is drowning cannot cry for help.

Every relationship is a form of colonization. You always risk becoming an object of exploitation. Even worse: you always risk becoming the exploiter. And as if that wasn't enough, no living creature is singular, of course. We are multiple. A group of independent beings - often hostile to each other - cohabiting under the same skin. This sharp multiplicity is what I wanted to capture by writing about theater. To talk about mouths that easily devour you, because you approach them expecting their kiss. That's what I did as a prose writer, in a few words.
