The new, third edition of the "Open Party" allows me to once again present, under the scrutiny of public opinion, my positions and proposals for the character and organizational foundations of the renewed, united, and victorious PASOK, which theoretically derive from what I have believed and supported for the party of the 21st century for years.
I believed and still believe that politics, as a public act, is exercised transparently only when it declares its theoretical principles and starting points. Behind the act of politics, there must be a political theory of action, if we do not want to be prisoners of an expert approach that often becomes opportunistic.
This applies especially to the institutional present and future of the party, as well as to the entire democratic institutions. The renewal of parties is the first phase and the first prerequisite for the overall renewal of the political system and the governance system of the country, within which society suffocates, feeling underrepresented and not participating substantially.
This can and must be overturned. PASOK now has the opportunity to open new paths, to turn electoral defeat into an opportunity for renewal and reconstruction, to create new strong and sincere bonds of trust with the citizens. It is worth trying. Together, we can achieve it.
