Description

The work of Max Weber, known as "Economy and Society," is one of the most important achievements of social science in the 20th century. The Greek edition of the complete work consists of six volumes and is based on the approved edition of the "Collected Works" by the famous German thinker.

The second volume includes texts whose common framework is the foundation and analysis of human communities. In these texts, Weber examines the ways in which primitive human groups emerge: the parent-child relationship, marital cohabitation, patriarchy, neighborhood, extended household, referring to major historical periods and anthropological research of the turn of the 20th century. He then analyzes the relationships that develop in the economic market, the ever-relevant issue of nation and ethnic and national consciousness, and continues his reflections on social classes and political parties, as well as the phenomenon of modern imperialism. It is a bundle of analyses that maintains its relevance and challenges the modern reader for further research. The volume is accompanied by an extensive introduction in which, in addition to informative explanations and useful bibliographic references, the theoretical and historical contexts of the work are analyzed.
