Why do we really need laws and rules in our lives? Wouldn't we be freer without them? To find out, Themis and Thetis travel, accompanied by the wise owl, to the land of Bananomia. A country where the inhabitants live without laws and rules and everyone does whatever they want. Absolute happiness? Not exactly! Unpleasant surprises await them there: garbage and pollution, traffic chaos, thieves who snatch their belongings without anyone being able to do anything. And the worst part? Generals and kings each make their own arbitrary law, which serves nothing but to inconvenience the citizens. In this way, Themis and Thetis realize the usefulness of the law, but not just any law: they learn that a law worth obeying is only one that is established by democratically elected bodies and through a legitimate, democratic process.
