Description
New book about tennis presenting the innovative learning system of the "Distal Method", adapted to this specific sport, with the aim of in-depth mastery of all the parameters that constitute and shape a successful player (professional or not), with the goal of developing the next generation of top athletes. The book is also a university textbook, as it is distributed by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki to students specializing in tennis.
The Distal Method (Distal Method - www.distalmethod.com) is the result of many years of research by the author on issues of motor learning and performance. The purpose of the method is the world-class specialization in skills that involve both physical and cognitive abilities through the utilization of all available resources of the human body that lead to learning, and only those.
Based on the author's first book "Tennis: Applied Principles of Technique and Motor Development" (2008), this work has a much more specific direction, with new elements from original published research by the author, methodological advice, principles, analyses, and comments. It also crystallizes his two-year experience in training professional tennis coaches. This work also includes two models of physical fitness development, two models of motor skill development, technique, strategy/tactics, and many useful information for the development of "talents" - that is, all of us.
