Plain sheet metal, expensive for this quality but does its job. It has a switch on the sides for disk numbering. In my case, I needed to use it because otherwise Windows wouldn't start.

I have bought 2 and I am absolutely satisfied. They work exceptionally. The installation on the laptop is done without any problem. The disk is securely mounted. It requires a little attention to remove the plastic casing from the old DVD and put it in the case for a aesthetic result.

Perfect. It simply does its job. WARNING it is 9mm and not 12mm. Pay attention to what height you need. Also, you will need to keep the bracket from your old DVD in order to securely attach it to the laptop.

I bought it to replace the ODD with an SSD so that I could have 2 hard drives. The replacement was for a Lenovo ideapad 100, unfortunately, as I expected, the laptop did not recognize the SSD with the caddy bay, so I had to open the laptop (be careful with the screw under the keyboard covered with a sticker that says Lenovo), replace the original disk with the SSD, and put the first one in the caddy bay. That way it recognized both of them, then all I had to do was clone the partition with the installed Windows from the first disk to the new disk.

It does its job just fine. I give it 4 stars because I had a lot of trouble with one of the four screws that hold the HDD in place. At first, I made the mistake of putting the SSD in the position of the DVD drive and I had serious problems and writing errors, and the writing speeds were very slow. But as soon as I changed the position, everything went smoothly.

It does its job perfectly, of very good quality construction with screws and its own screwdriver included, but it made me lose faith in being able to attach the tray inside the laptop. It didn't fit well inside and I couldn't tell if it had been attached or not, so I ended up disassembling the entire laptop to see that it was only halfway connected to the SATA and needed extra help to finally attach it properly. So a 10-minute job took me several hours.

It does its job perfectly. Pay attention to the dimensions, specifically the height, before purchasing it. There are 9.5mm and 12.7mm options, so measure yours first and then make the purchase. This specific one is 9.5mm.
