The tale of Pictor can be described as a tribute to Mozart's Magic Flute. The transformation that Pictor must undergo is not entirely harmless. Uncontrolled forces, which shape the soul and the individual, also play a role. This is demonstrated by the style of this parabolic love tale, its form, which is open to music, its spirited language, which in extremely happy moments reaches true rhyme, as well as its many bold mythological allusions. Who knows... Perhaps someday the idea will come to a capable musician to use this tale as a basis for an opera. It would fit wonderfully (without, in fact, the slightest change, which would be unacceptable) with music and scenery.
