The only downside is that I would recommend getting a heatsink because it reaches around 50-51 degrees under full load, which is quite high for an M.2. It should be noted that this is with the stock heatsink that comes with the motherboard

  I bought it instead of the Samsung 970 Evo plus because the latter was incompatible with macOS software. (recently Samsung released firmware that solved the problem).
  It was installed on an X79 motherboard using a PCI-E card (Silverstone SST-ECM21 PCI Express to M.2 - The X79 chipset does not support M.2 port).
  Due to the card, I consider the speeds to be reduced. It is still incredibly fast.
  2450MB/sec WRITE
  2612MB/sec READ
  (Black Magic Disk Speed test results)
  It is used as the main operating system drive (mojave 10.14.4). I am completely satisfied mainly because its performance does not decrease with continuous use.
  Most "cheap" SSDs that I have purchased (except for Samsung and this WD) maintain their speeds for 2-5 seconds of continuous use (e.g. copying large files, software installation, etc.). Then they drop rapidly.

  A must-have to accompany high-end systems with 3470 MB/s read and 2600 MB/s write, forget about cables and never again have space/power issues, etc.
