Cheap price for a cheap chair. If you intend it for children up to 50 kilograms, it is sufficient. It is not suitable for adults and professional use (in an office).
Update after 3 months. It broke! The shock absorber "sank" and did not "rise" again. I threw it away!
The wood of the seat sounds rotten and the screws didn't hold. It took a lot of effort to screw it in. However, it was expected as it is the second chair we have gotten and we didn't go through the process of exchanging it as it doesn't make sense.
I bought it during the first lockdown to work from home, realizing that due to its price, it wouldn't be something "super-duper", but because I needed to buy several things at that time to be able to work from home, and my budget was already burdened, I chose it knowing (and accepting) that I would have to make some compromises.
The assembly was easy. The seat had very little foam inside as I expected, making it feel "hard", but I dealt with it by using a square chair cushion that I bought from a well-known toy and home goods chain.
I should note that the backrest cannot be adjusted in terms of height or angle. It has only one position.
Then I noticed that the wheels didn't roll very smoothly, whether the chair was on the tile or on the carpet (which was added later due to winter). Someone might argue that it's naturally harder for the wheels to roll on the carpet.
I greased them with lithium grease, and the situation improved slightly, although not satisfactorily. But I didn't mind that much, as I mentioned before, I knew I would have to make some compromises.
I haven't encountered any problems with the shock absorber, at least from March 2020 until February 2021 when I am writing this review. Nor have I had any significant issues with the backrest tightening. Okay, it loosens occasionally, but I tighten the screw and it stays in place for at least a month. This doesn't bother me either, based on what I mentioned earlier.
At some point, in November 2020, the chair started giving me the feeling that it was leaning. I quickly checked the column of the shock absorber, and it seemed fine. I didn't pay much attention to it because I thought maybe it was due to the carpet, maybe the carpet had settled more in certain areas, and when the wheel rests on those areas, it creates that sensation.
However, from mid-January 2021, this feeling grew stronger, and the chair became quite difficult to roll on the wheels.
So I decided to investigate further and examined the base more carefully.
What I discovered can be seen in the attached photo: one of the 5 legs is bent, causing stability issues as the wheels of all 5 legs don't touch the ground at the same height (which causes the leaning problem I mentioned), and it also prevents the chair from rolling properly as the wheel of the bent leg doesn't touch the ground properly, resulting in the chair being "braked".
I want to emphasize here that the bending was even worse, what is shown in the photo is after my attempt to "fix" it as much as I could using a hydraulic jack. The material of the legs is not metal, but rather hard thick plastic, which can't withstand too much force, as it could have broken if I applied more pressure.
In some stores, it is mentioned that the weight limit of the chair is 80 kg. I weigh 72 kg, so I am clearly within the limit.
In conclusion,
Due to its price, I can accept poor quality plastics, a "hard" seat with minimal foam, wheels that don't roll smoothly, or a backrest and armrests that need to be tightened every month to stay stable.
I can accept and understand these things due to the low price. It's the price you pay if you don't want to spend a lot.
But for the base leg to break with a weight of 72 kilograms, in a chair intended for adults, I cannot accept this, at any price. Don't use cheap materials in the chair, okay. But this shouldn't happen... No person weighing 100 kilograms sat on it... Seriously....
If you intend it for a person up to 50 kilograms, want it to have armrests, and don't want to spend a lot, then go ahead and get it. But make sure to also get a thick cushion for the seat, and maybe another one for the back if it feels a bit "off" since, as I said, the back has a fixed position and cannot be adjusted. And of course, oil the wheels.
Don't even think about it for heavier weights. You will waste your money.
UPDATE 20/5/21: When something is poorly made to such an extent, it was expected that it wouldn't "stop" at the above... Along the way, two more legs of the chair broke (maybe it was expected, considering that it didn't have a stable base, no matter how much I tried to fix the first broken leg), so it ended up next to the blue recycling bin... My advice: DO NOT choose it if the weight it will bear exceeds 40 kilograms.
Πήρα 2 καρέκλες για τα παιδιά (μην κάνετε το λάθος να νομίσετε ότι ειναι για ενήλικα γιατί δεν είναι).
Ύστερα από 6 μήνες το κάθισμα έχει κάτσει αρκετά και βρίσκεις ξύλο. Τρίζουν πάρα πολύ πλέον. Το χειρότερο όμως όλων ειναι πως οι πλάτες έχουν πρακτικά χαλάσει. Το σίδερο στο κάτω μέρος που ενώνεται πλάτη και κάθισμα είναι πολύ κακό με αποτέλεσμα να έχει στραβώσει εντελώς με τον καιρό και η πλάτη να παίζει αρκετά (τέρμα βιδωμένη) και φαίνεται πως σε λίγο καιρό απλά θα σπάσει. Πιάνεται με μία μόνο βίδα η οποία και αυτή ξεβιδώνεται συνέχεια.
Αυτά με 2 καρέκλες για να μη νομίζετε πως απλά έτυχε σε ελατωματικό κομμάτι.
Δεν αξίζουν με τίποτα. Φτηνές μεν αλλά αν θες άλλες σε 6-10 μήνες καλύτερα να πάρετε κάτι καλύτερο.
I paid 30€ for it. I had it for a year, using it for 4-8 hours a day. After 6 months, it started creaking until it eventually broke a year later, all for 30€
