The present collective volume, which constitutes (we hope) a public dialogue on cutting-edge issues in political science as well as in politics and the political phenomenon itself, holds a position of minimum tribute to the eminent Scientist and Public Intellectual in the field of political science, Giannis Metaxas. [...] Prominent Scientists mainly from the field of political science, as well as from other related scientific fields and from the fields of journalism and art, converse through their original contributions on major issues of political theory, research, and analysis. At the same time, these studies reflect certain dimensions of Professor Metaxas' contribution to the evolution of political science. And indeed, dimensions are reflected, because the endeavor of a comprehensive overview of his contribution would undoubtedly exceed the capabilities even of an honorary volume.
