My involvement with history books also has its own history, as it counts more than twenty years and has been tested multiple times - among the pitfalls of educational mechanisms. In these twenty years, many things have changed in the world and in Greece; almost everything has been turned upside down, with the most significant event, not only of the past twenty years, being the collapse of the political systems of existing socialism, as we used to call them.[...] These changes are accompanied by a fragmentation of historical themes: the study of historical events as sets is rapidly declining, and for an increasing portion of historiography, societies of the past are not treated as entities that move in one way or another, that have this or that character - and the corresponding form - depending on the particular state of social relations, but rather as multiple sets, each with its own autonomy, moving parallel to the others.
