After 6 months of use, I noticed the following:
It is not a smartwatch and it is not made to be one. It is a fitness watch and serves this purpose exceptionally well. Accuracy in measurements, indicators, and functions that cover a beginner/intermediate runner, in-depth statistics, and Garmin Coach that does an excellent job. Waterproof, I accidentally went into the sea and everything was fine!!! GPS locks on quickly, relatively strong vibration for notifications, and understandable graphics. I run with headphones so I didn't hear the sound notification. In conclusion, it is a must-have for anyone who wants a first experience with running watches that do the job as they should and don't cost a fortune. The Fenix or the 6XX series and above are aimed at more demanding sports. It has basic notification functions, calls/sms, but as I said, you don't get it for that. The dial is not flashy but you can see it in all conditions and the button operation, although "old-fashioned" (for 2024), when understood, gives confidence to your steps while running.
In the -almost- negatives. It is small in size (42mm), so on a male hand, it looks somewhat childish. The battery is not its strong point, on the 3rd (2nd hour+) workout, I had to charge it again. The buttons, as I said, are definitely responsive, but due to the size, they are very close to each other, so there are inaccuracies.
I would buy it again for its functions and reliability, but I would not buy it again for its size.
I bought it in October 2022 and it has been accompanying me on every running route since then! For running enthusiasts, it is an essential equipment to monitor your speed, distance, and heart rate! You download the connect garmin app and have all your statistics there with a simple synchronization! It provides information about improving your physical condition, how many hours of recovery you need, hours of sleep, stress and body battery levels, intensity minutes, calories burned, steps taken, and even your breathing rate. It has so many options! You can even add equipment like shoes and track the kilometers you have run with those specific shoes so you know when to replace them! It includes training programs that you can consult, including garmin coach, to train for 5k, 10k, and even a half marathon, completely free! And many more features that I haven't discovered yet! Finally, by downloading the ConnectIq app, you can choose different clock faces and data field options! I have uploaded some videos to my profile showing some basic features and how it works and connects with the app!
I bought the watch a month ago. I used it for 2 weeks. then suddenly the battery died. I tried to charge it and it got so hot, I thought it would explode. I turned it off and then, a few days after I thought I should give it a try. I charged it and wore it for a half hour run. the battery went from 100% to 83% just for a half hour run. I sent it back to the shop, they tested it and they said that the battery, with no other use just watch, lasted for 3 days. Garmin refused to fix it because they said it's normal. Garmin never again. there are other brands as good as Garmin used to be.
I have had the watch for 2 years..it does everything like a fenix!!! You simply pay for the finesse with the more expensive ones! In the 2 years, only the strap broke..you can replace it for 10€.
After extensive research for a value for money smartwatch, I can say that I am extremely satisfied (writing this review after 20 days of use).
Very good quality, fully lightweight and stylish. Its battery lasts for many days with full use! A week? I haven't calculated it exactly!
Personally, I do CrossFit and the purchase of a heart rate monitor strap was necessary. If you are interested in reading the data you collect! With the strap, you have accuracy.
My training has changed significantly since I upgraded my smartwatch to Garmin. I definitely recommend it to runners who want to improve their performance and are still learning, like me. It's also lightweight and stylish on a woman's wrist. It takes a little time to get used to its operation, especially if you're used to a touch screen, but it's definitely worth it.
Ultra-lightweight and well-constructed with a plethora of measurements and analyses to improve your performance. As its successor (255) is coming, you can find it at a very good price (under 200€), making it a blind choice especially if you're on a budget. I do crossfit and running, and the feather-light feel with detailed measurements is a must.
P.S. In the case of crossfit, a heart rate band is essential for more reliable measurements.
I believe this watch is perfectly suitable for an amateur runner. It may appear fake due to its construction quality (the only negative aspect I see), but overall it functions flawlessly. It has many features for whatever you need, and perfect synchronization. The battery life is very good, and it measures wrist pulses very accurately (in comparison to chest straps I have used). Now, we will have to see how durable the watch is and if it can withstand wear and tear.
Perfect for someone who wants to track their workouts - personally, I use it for running and it's exactly what I need. Good value for money - it's in the mid-range of Garmin products. A big plus is its screen, as you can see the information quite clearly, although I think it requires a bit of attention to avoid scratches, etc.

2. After 1.5 years of daily use, it suddenly stopped working and never came back on... Luckily, it was still under warranty, so I got it replaced by Garmin Hellas in Alimos. They also informed me that the warranty has been renewed for another 2 years... Good to know!
As always, I write a review after a few months of using each product, as I don't want to judge based on my initial enthusiasm. After 4 months of use, including use in the sea, the watch is quite good with excellent battery life that you forget to charge, lightweight, very important for the activities we "active" people take it for, as the use I make of it is for running, enduro mountain biking, swimming and fitness training! The measurements are accurate and calibrated mainly for distance (stride length) in running/walking, while the heart rate is also quite accurate (always compared to other devices). Overall, the watch is very honest with many capabilities through the application to elevate your performance. I should not forget its excellent screen that will never bother you with anything, both for its lighting and for its colors.
All of this is good of course BUT.... the first week I cursed trying to connect it to my phone, if I didn't update it via PC I would have broken it! since then of course everything is super and I haven't had a problem again. One issue is related to use in the sea, as although it is a triathlon watch, after swimming it needs a good rinse with tap water and pressing ALL its buttons to clean them from salt, otherwise they stick and can even send an SOS message to your contacts!!! Regarding durability, because I know it's not a FENIX, but plastic, with a funny amount you buy a protective cover and a screen protector and you're good to go.
Overall, GARMIN is quite reliable and has excellent products, but as I know and say, you get what you pay for, of course for the 280.00 euros that is not a small amount for a fitness watch, it is a shame for its buttons to stick after a swim in the sea!!! Anyway, next time it's GARMIN again.
I will tell you that I have had it for exactly one year and I have been taking care of it like my own eyes. It has not been touched by water and it simply stopped charging. We all know how Garmin support is here in Greece, so what else is there to say? NEVER AGAIN GARMIN.
I have had it for about a month. As an owner of the 235, I can say that it is clearly more compact, smaller, and better in quality.
I got it without music because I am not interested in sitting down to put on music every time before running (or listening to the same thing over and over again), nor am I a premium member of Spotify. So I preferred music from my phone, as always.
What bothers me a little is the pulse sensor under the watch. It hurts my wrist a little. Personally, if there was an option, I would take it without it.
I have a belt anyway.
I don't know if the pulse measurements are reliable. At this particular moment, I am not interested in them and I haven't studied them.
