Installation.
Because the design is intended to last as long as possible in the space where it is placed, I tried to make it as safe as possible from possible punctures from below. That's why I did the following:
1. Cleaned the ground well.
2. Spread a layer of sand about 5cm thick.
3. Put geotextile to prevent plants from growing upwards.
4. Spread non-salt sand, about 4cm thick.
5. Put 2 special cloths to prevent possible plants from passing through.
6. Put the gray cloth that comes with it for the base.
7. Placed the pool and filled it with water.
Obviously, some may consider all of this excessive, but I said that the installation was done for as long as the pool lasts.
Cleaning - Water maintenance.
Anyone who thinks they can simply fill it with water and enjoy days of swimming in clean crystal clear water is mistaken.
The process I followed, based on the advice of a pool store, was as follows:
1. Filled the water and shocked it with 320g of Dichloro, 240g of pH minus, and 2 caps of algaecide.
2. Added 1 cap of algaecide every 3 days.
3. Placed 1 Rio chlorine tablet in the special container every time the previous one dissolved.
4. Cleaned the bottom and walls with the pool brush every morning.
5. Measured pH and chlorine levels every day with a testing kit.
6. Showered before entering the pool.
7. The pump-filter is set to run for 6 hours at night and 2 two-hour intervals during the day, using a timer. I believe that if it runs 24 hours every day, it may eventually burn out. This is just my thought, it doesn't mean it will happen.
I know that obviously these procedures may seem crazy to you, but after a few days, it becomes routine and is done quickly.
This way, I have managed to have truly crystal clear water and we all enjoy it.
Obviously, anyone can do whatever they want for their own pool. I just wrote this for those who want to take the time to swim in amazing waters.
Construction quality.
So far, after approximately 2 months of daily use, morning, noon, and night, with 4 to 6 people each time, everything is perfect.
As for durability over time, I don't have an opinion since the product is only a few months old.
Update.
After the end of last summer, the pool was emptied, cleaned with a pressure washer, turned upside down and cleaned again with a pressure washer from underneath. It was then hung upside down like a tent and left to dry for 4 days.
It was folded and stored in a closed room.
The same was done with the pool frame.
The peripherals, waterfall, pump, hoses, skimmer, ladder, light, filters, were all cleaned very well and some were soaked in white vinegar overnight. Then they were put back in their original boxes.
Almost all the salts were removed. However, there might still be some salt residue.
New year for 2024.
Yesterday we started setting up this year's pool.
Everything is perfect. Everything is working properly.
The pool doesn't leak from anywhere.
It was brand new.
Now, in the evening, I adjusted the pH of the water and performed the first shock treatment.
Everything is set up and tested, and it's perfect.
Tomorrow, algaecide, cleaning with the pool brush, and chlorine will be added.
I hope to take my first swim of the year tomorrow evening.
It has some inconvenience but it is truly brand new for the 2nd year, everything, pool and peripherals.
If you take care of it, you will definitely have it for 2 years, always new... And we will see for the next years. I will keep you updated on everything and how many years it lasts.
Replacement of an older pool of the same dimensions. The previous one lasted 4 years with intensive use. Therefore, buying the same newer model was the only way to go
Certainly, kids, especially those up to 12 years old, will love it!!!
It requires a lot of water (about 17 tons!!!), so the area where it will be set up must be able to withstand it (forget about balconies, rooftops, etc.). The ground where it will be set up should be level, preferably with a layer of sand, and a paving stone or something similar should be placed under each leg to prevent it from sinking into the ground.
After setting it up, don't forget the chemicals, otherwise it will become... murky!!! There are some additional things you put inside, like a slow-release tablet, and you check every 5 days if it has dissolved. They release chlorine and an algicide, which you check with a chlorine and pH testing kit daily. You may need to adjust the pH with another chemical. Also, consider buying a timer for the pump, because if it runs all day, it will burn out! The average solution, after a lot of research, is to run it for about half the day, that is, 9-12, 14-16, and 18-23. It consumes 300W. The pump also has a paper filter that you remove every 2-3 days and rinse (replace it every month or so). Lastly, beware of anything that falls into the water's surface.
I discovered all these things along the way, so don't think that you will buy it, fill it up, and be done like I thought! It has the same responsibilities and expenses as a regular pool of the same size, so calculate roughly double the money to make it work for the first season (I bought it for 350 and another 350 for the necessary things I described to you)!!! P.S.: Next season, get a pool bottom cleaner because it turns brown!!!
It is incredible.
It just requires a little attention at the beginning with the chemicals (Chlorine and pH).
