Description

A new generation of Pokémon is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Begin your adventure as a Pokémon Trainer by choosing one of the three new partner Pokémon: Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble. Then, embark on a journey in the new Galar region, where you will challenge the troublemakers of Team Yell, unraveling the mystery behind the legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta! Explore the Wild Area, a vast expanse of land where the player can freely control the camera. Team up with three other players locally or online in the new multiplayer co-op Max Raid Battles.
Some Pokémon can even gain new appearances and a powerful set of G-Max moves. But there's more to being a champion than honing your battle skills: you can choose your own clothes and get a new hairstyle when you visit the town shops, so you can be the trainer you want to be. Throughout your journey, you will encounter newly discovered Pokémon as well as familiar ones that will look a little different in their new Galarian forms!

Reviews

  • Haters gonna hate, but in my opinion, this particular game has a very interesting story compared to the other mainline Pokemon games for the switch, although it has several (positive!) noticeable differences from the older Pokemon games.

Nostalgic return to the world of Pokemon after fire red on the game boy advance sp! I can say that the quality and excitement remains the same after so many years and anyone who loves this franchise will love sword/shield! Beautiful landscapes and cities and the 3D approach on the switch has been a complete success. I completed the story after 15-16 hours (of course, there are still many hours left for completing the pokedex) and compared to other past cartridges, it seemed easier to me! As written in other reviews, it lacks the element of exploration that existed in the past, so you won't get stuck anywhere and that's the only negative aspect of the game. It's quite easy but the world, the graphics, the vibe, the wild area that was added, and the raids make you forget any negative aspects that may exist! Highly recommended!

Let's clarify this if you are a Pokemon fan or a fan of the anime in recent seasons, you should get it. If you are unfamiliar with Pokemon and you buy it, you will get a very good game that could have been much better.

The game has no plot. It doesn't have a serious Team with a serious plan based on its worldview, whom we chase in every Pokemon game. I don't even remember the name of the Team in this Pokemon, it's ridiculous.

Otherwise, something we always wanted is realism in the franchise, and that comes with the wild area. If you are an old fan waiting for something like Pokemon Arceus, the wild area experience is worth it.

Otherwise, it's the familiar Pokemon experience with reduced difficulty but an introduction to the realism of the Pokemon world. The choice is yours

Guys, it's necessary to get Eternatus, but you also need to level up in general from wild battles or spam exp candy ;) By the way, it's a very nice game, get it and use health for Zacian or Zamazenta's 1 hit moves. GET ITTTTT!!!!!!!! Choose water as your first Pokémon and you will remember me ;)

Pokemon Game. For fans of the series, it's no different from the others. For new players, it's an incredible experience. Must have in your collection (also at the time these lines are written, it's one month before the release of the 1st DLC)

Personally, I loved it, there are some issues with the graphics here and there, but you won't notice them unless you look for them

As all main Pokemon titles, it has awesome gameplay/strategy without being able to exploit it in single mode and nice music plus some minor improvements like the appearance of Pokemon in the open area! The graphics are simply good but of a previous generation, the story and characters are indifferent without metagame on it.

P.S: I believe that removing Pokemon would have a less negative tone if the game was not so shallow and deviated from Pokemon standards. It seems to be of a low budget and that does not honor the 90+ billion company! Overall, it is likely rushed due to time pressure from the marketing side! An easy game for people of all ages with minimal respect for hardcore fans and with the criterion of its price simply disappointing! There are much superior RPGs that respect their genre and the consumer's money!

I have played for 50+ hours and I have to say...

It's very nice, very entertaining, but Hop (your character's rival) is the most annoying character ever, acting like a dumb-happy all the time.

I really like the Dynamax Battles.
The Multi-Player is good but sometimes broken.

Also, the Raids are good and fun. One tip: In raids, the Host catches the Dynamax Pokemon with the most useless Poké Ball xD

The price for 60€ is too much, but it's a nice little game despite being short.

The usual recipe here and how many years and I can say that it was even more simplified. I expected the switch to take the game many levels higher.
Dynamax is just an effect, nothing else.. if I was 10-13 years old, maybe it would excite me.. the story is just there to exist.. as well as many areas, it has a bunch of empty repetitive rooms, barely even a (useless) conversation with an npc. The new Pokémon, their design, etc. were good.. but the graphics were very old.. they are Nintendo Wii graphics. For an indie game, it's worth the money and more, like around 35 euros.. but as an AAA game, 60 euros is too much. I'm not a player who wants cutting-edge graphics, but I don't want to pay 50-60 euros for this thing in 2019. For example, Octopath Traveler was much better with those graphics and for the price it has. It is a more complete and well-structured game.. while in Pokémon, there are many (many) eye-catching points.

The best Pokémon game I've played so far and I've played them all. Truly incredible graphics, nice animation. The wild area is perfect for exploration and the encounters with powerful Pokémon keep you entertained. The three starter Pokémon could have had better evolutions. While initially they are all great, the final evolution of Grookey and the other two didn't impress me. And the DYNAMAX battles, while they seemed a bit strange in the trailer, are much better when actually playing. I wonder why so many people complained about the missing Pokédex. It's okay, we got tired of the old ones, we want new ones. If you want the old ones, play Pokémon Pikachu and Eevee. Also, everyone says they were expecting something more exciting, I don't know what they were expecting, but this game is the best Pokémon game so far. I highly recommend it.

In the visual aspect, it is like the previous Pokémon without many improvements. However, it has countless Pokémon and just because it is a classic Pokémon, I give it a 5/5..... Compared to other RPGs, it is definitely the best, simply perfect!!! I was eagerly waiting for this and also for Digimon Cyber Sleuth......
