The best in its category. It is a game that offers a story that every person involved in racing would want to experience. In a strange way, it makes you love your cars (especially the starter) as if they were your own (or maybe I'm just crazy), offering various styles to "customize" your car. For example, I have a regular Japanese tuning style 180SX, 2 Bosozoku builds (yes, you can do that too, for those who know) and many others. The driving mechanics are simply wonderful, as long as you have the right build for what you want to do, of course. The cars it offers did not disappoint anyone. The online mode is almost the same as the single player mode, though. Overall, it is a wonderful and well-made game.

Perhaps the best arcade racing game you can buy right now. There is no reason to look at any other game of this kind since this one excels in all areas (customization, variety of vehicles, sound, etc.)
Really one of the worst games I have played. The graphics are perfect, but that doesn't change the fact that:
1. The police are completely broken with bugs that make you break everything, like being hit against a wall with force and staying in the air. Guess what! They catch you and you lose all the progress you made in the night mode.
2. I won't even discuss the rubber banding. You go with 300+ and there are 4 police cars next to you as if you were going with 50...
I will continue with another negative aspect, which is the upgrade system. Why follow the path of The Crew 2? I have to grind to get some parts that are locked behind high heat races, which, as I mentioned, end up in broken cop chases. For example, you are heat 3 after a simple race, and suddenly you are heat 5... The cops don't let you have peace, so literally, it reaches a point where you just can't play in the night mode.
It's a shame because it's a good game if it didn't have all these issues... The only positive things I find are the graphics and the car models, only those

For me, a game is value for money when your money is worth it in relation to the time. Heat is a game with nice sound, nice graphics, somewhat interesting story, and once you finish it, just sell it. Clearly. You can try to finish the collectibles and challenges for the trophies, but the game doesn't offer any enjoyment and innovation in terms of its online component.
Even in the campaign, what bothered me is the fact that in order to see a difference in the selection of underglow, you have to make a purchase first and then switch to night to see how it looks. And all of this because the garage always has bright sunlight and in a unique part of the gameplay's story, you find yourself in a dark garage where you can actually see the color of the underglow you're buying, but later you return to the bright and it's the same again.
Also, in terms of difficulty. At first, the pursuits seemed difficult to me because the police were quite tough and easily break you, so I set the difficulty to easy, which made the races at least ridiculous, reaching a point where you pass opponents before finishing. When I built stronger cars for the pursuits, I set the difficulty to hard and the races were easy again. The game is really called Heat only for the police, no difficulty in the races, and why is that?
Everything breaks, you can go through everything except buildings, bridges, and some trees. You can literally cut straight from checkpoint to checkpoint without even having to drive by turning. If you have already played Forza Horizon 5 before this, you will probably understand how easily it breaks every obstacle.
If I were to recommend another arcade racing game instead of Heat, it would be The Crew 2, which for a game from 2018 still releases updates, adds vehicles, tracks, accessories, challenges, weekly tournaments, and monthly content.
If you found Heat on sale for €10, get it to pass some time, it's not a game that keeps you engaged.

Well, the game is quite good
It is like all the need for speed games, very good sound, good graphics, the story is a bit disappointing because it is short and ends abruptly, but overall it has a lot of races to do and a good variety of cars. If you find it for 20 euros, it is a pretty good choice
In recent years, I had abandoned the series as it was mediocre or, in my opinion, going in the wrong direction.
This particular game pleasantly surprised me, as I hadn't felt such emotions since the time of Most Wanted - the chase, the beautiful graphics, the sound, and the handling.
Unfortunately, the story is very short and unfinished, as it abruptly ends and you feel like you didn't even reach the middle of the game.
The game is divided into day and night, and you choose according to your mood. During the day, you can participate in legal races without traffic on the roads, collecting money to upgrade your car.
But at night, illegal races take place where you earn reputation that increases your level and unlocks upgrades, parts, and cars, as well as progresses the game's story.
With traffic on the roads and the police chasing you at night, the more chaos you create, the higher the level you are sought after, with a mechanism that reminded me of Grand Theft Auto, where you can be sought after with frenzy at level 5, even by helicopters.
The customization of the cars is rich with 100+ wheels and many other parts such as wings, spoilers, and diffusers.
Also, in all the cars, you can install a different engine, and if you search a bit on YouTube, there are videos showing which engine is the fastest for each vehicle.
Here, however, I have a personal objection as I would prefer the engines not to be changed so that we can hear the authentic sound of each car, with a striking example being the 2010 Subaru Impreza, where the fastest engine is a V8 but you stop hearing the boxer engine's rumble.
In the end, this is the best Need for Speed game in the last decade, for sure
The need for speed is a very good game compared to the other need for speed games. The sound has exceeded my expectations. The graphics of the game are perfect, especially when it's raining.
Well, the game is not bad at all, I just have a problem with most of the people, which is that after a few hours of gameplay and making progress in the game, it starts to get very tiring, repetitive, and boring.
The customization of the cars and the graphics are amazing, but again, it gets boring very quickly.
Now, as for the price, the day one price of 70 euros, I believe it's not worth it for any reason. I bought it for 50 euros a few weeks after it was released, and still, it wasn't worth it. The current price is 30 euros, and I think it's okay. For me, it should at least go down to 20 euros, if not 10, in order to buy it, but from here on out, it depends on how much of a fan of the series you are.
The difference from its predecessors is noticeable in all aspects. The graphics are modern and refreshed, the sound is amazing, and the handling is much more realistic as you can feel the car being "heavier" on the road, not like the older ones that felt like a piece of paper with gas and bumps here and there. Finally, NFS is stepping up its game, but in order to reach the top again, the series needs to provide a deeper story to keep you interested and not just be a side game. 7/10

NFS Heat is the best game out of the rest of the Need for Speed series. It reminds me a bit of Payback, but this time it exceeded the limits. This game has the best story or the best online mode to play with your friends. It has a few cars, but you can customize them as you want and earn money relatively quickly. It's perfect and worth its money.

As a franchise, I had given up on it shortly after Pro Street because it was the same without any substance. After watching various gameplay videos, I decided to buy it.
As far as I have played it, I have found it quite interesting with many different options for races, as well as full customization of the car.
It is a perfect game. You can modify the cars, but what I would like in this game is to have motorcycles and be able to build them
By far the best Need for Speed of recent years. It keeps the positives (graphics, gameplay) and fixes what the previous ones did wrong, such as the terrible performance customization by removing the awful speedcards and replacing them with a good regular system. It also improved the story, not a masterpiece but not cringe like Payback and NFS '15. On one hand, it doesn't have a large collection of cars, like many off-road or drift ones, but it gives you the ability to customize each car as you want and make it off-road or drift. The biggest addition is the Day and Night feature. The change is done manually by the player. During the Day, there are legal events that give money and overall the cops are calmer. However, during the Night, there are illegal events that give REP, the game's XP, and money. But the more events you do at night, the higher your Heat level goes up. Heat is a blessing and a curse, as it multiplies your REP up to 5 times. The closer it gets to 5, the harder the cops become, and if they catch you, you lose a lot of money and your REP. This risk is what makes this game unique and sets it apart from the others.
I am doing a brief review after several hours of gameplay in order to give you an understanding of what this game is exactly:
- Firstly, it is an arcade racing game, which means that the driving behavior of the cars is not realistic. You can take turns at 250+ km/h or slow down from 300 to 200 km/h with a tap of the brake to make a turn, etc. This is something you should know before purchasing the game.
- For those who have played the old good Need For Speed games (Underground 1&2, Most Wanted), there is something in Heat that will remind you of those times, but unfortunately, it lacks in terms of story and duration (I will explain below).
- I will start with the positives of the game. As an arcade driving experience, the game is very good. The driving mechanisms are well-balanced, providing a satisfying level of difficulty and challenge without becoming annoying and frustrating due to certain "broken" mechanics like in other games. The immersion of fast driving is real and very enjoyable, which is crucial for an arcade racing game.
- Additionally, visually and acoustically, the game is stunning. The lighting during the day with the sunset and clouds in the sky, the reflections on surfaces and the wet road (when it rains) are beautiful and alone make the game attractive and make you want to explore the world and admire it. At night, the landscape changes and becomes more "underground" with the volumetric lighting of the streets from lamps and vehicles, the neon lights, and the dynamic shadows of objects creating an atmosphere reminiscent of the polished NFS Underground. The sound of the game is also very good, with the combination of the car engine sound and the excellent soundtrack of the game. Additionally, the game, on the PS4 Pro where I played it, ran locked at 30 frames per second, with literally only 3-4 instances of framedrops throughout my 20+ hour playthrough.
- Another major advantage of the game is the wide range of cars available, combined with a plethora of upgrades and customization options both in terms of performance and appearance, which is a trademark of the NFS series and should not be missing. Furthermore, you can "tune" each car for any type of race you desire (there are 4 types of races: track, rally, speedcross, and showcase, but 60-70% of the races are essentially track races), although some vehicles will always perform better in a specific type of race (for example, a Lamborghini Huracan will always perform better on a track rather than in a rally).
- Now, regarding the design and progression within the game: The game's time is divided into "day" and "night," where during the day there are available races from which you earn money to buy cars and upgrades, while at night, you earn reputation (Rep) from races, which you need to unlock missions, vehicles, and upgrades in the game. The game's missions, both the main story and the secondary ones, become available gradually as you progress in the game, and some are available during the day while others are available at night. When you're not playing a mission or a speed race, you can freely roam within the game's world, either to admire the landscapes or to complete various secondary challenges scattered on the game's map, such as speed traps, drift zones, etc., as well as collect hidden collectibles. It should be noted that at any time while driving in the game's world, either freely or in a race, a police chase may start, which you must avoid in order to safely return home, with each successful evasion rewarding you with reputation.
- Let's move on to the main story now, which is the main drawback of the game. And I explain: the main story mainly revolves around how the protagonist will manage to become a member of the "championship," which is essentially an underground scene of speed racers, and in his attempt to achieve it, he is confronted with the corrupt city police, and more or less the story revolves around this main axis. The problem is that while the characters and the "purpose" of the story are well-developed and make you want to progress to see what will happen... The duration of this story ultimately proves to be very short, and the worst part is that it ends abruptly, leaving you with the question of what happens next. It's as if they ran out of time during the production of the game and left the story at 60% or as if they wanted to continue it in some DLC and never did. This abrupt termination of the story's development becomes even more unpleasant due to the fact that the gameplay of the game is really good, as mentioned before, and you want to continue playing... Another element that shows how short the story is, is the fact that you actually need much more time to grind money for upgrades and vehicles and reputation to unlock story missions, rather than to play the story missions themselves.
- Finally, as a consolation for the short duration of the story, there are secondary missions that, although they do not have any major plot interest, apart from a few dialogues, at least add some more hours of gameplay, as well as the large number of side activities mentioned above (challenges, collectibles, special upgrades unlocked only after difficult nighttime races and police chases), which if you have the bug and want to complete them, you will definitely need much more time than the average.
- And one more note about police chases and certain races: sometimes, especially at the beginning of the game, some races may seem very difficult to win and also in chases, especially if they take a long time and you end up being chased by half of the police force, you will never be able to escape them and you will constantly be frustrated and lose your mental calm. I suggest you search the internet for specific cars with engine swaps that are very good for specific races, for example, they have very good grip or high acceleration after turns, resulting in making your life much easier in races without breaking your nerves until you find the perfect combination of vehicle/driving for each track. And for the chases with the police, also if you search on the internet, there are specific ways to easily and quickly avoid it (specific tactics and locations on the map) so that you don't lose your patience unnecessarily. I believe that the above is not a matter of poor balance in the gameplay of the game, as it is most likely that you will understand them and apply them on your own by dedicating time to the game, that's why I don't include them in the negatives, they are just tips after several hours of gameplay to make your life easier and save time.
In summary, NFS Heat is a very promising arcade racing game, with very entertaining gameplay that will surely bring back some memories from the good old days when Need for Speed played on their own, but unfortunately the short duration of the story and its abrupt ending take away many points from it and deprive it of the opportunity to be one of the best games in the series.

The game is a masterpiece and I can't understand how some people say that Payback is better. Very nice graphics on the cars, especially in the garage, and incredible customization, better than Payback. The story is slightly better than Payback, short but very high quality. However, there are a lot more events than in Payback. The number of cars is much larger than in Payback and they added cabrio, Ferrari, Volvo, and various other models that Payback didn't have. The sound is enjoyable and very realistic, just like the previous game in the series. The gameplay is almost the same but slightly better than Payback, with the difference that during the night, the police chase you during the race and afterwards you have to escape them and go to a garage. The day-night cycle is amazing, something that Payback didn't have. Here, I should emphasize that some missions are during the day and some during the night. For example, if you are in the day, you can't do a night mission and it doesn't appear on the map. The map is approximately the same size as in Payback. Also, there are no annoying speed cards here, upgrades are done in the correct and classic mechanical way. It's very fun to be chased by the police during the race, but sometimes the pursuits are difficult and the adrenaline is through the roof, many times I was on the edge until I reached the garage and escaped them. In this game, there is no drag or runner category like in Payback, and you can use a car in all categories. For example, you can use a jeep for off-road, drift, and racing. Also, in this particular game, there is only one dealership. Finally, you can change suspensions on the cars. However, there were some negatives such as: 1) various bugs like all games of this generation. For example, the car would go under the ground or get stuck in the sea floor for a few minutes, and sometimes when you go to start an event, it wouldn't tell you to press the button to change the car, so you had to either close and reopen it or do the race with the car you had. 2) the fact that at night you can't go to the dealership and it doesn't give you the option to change cars, so you have to go back to the garage and switch it to day if you want to go to the dealership or change cars, and then switch it back to night. 3) They didn't improve the graphics compared to Payback. The forests, houses, and other cars on the road are almost the same as in Payback. Conclusion: The game is definitely worth the 30€ and I want to clarify that I have played Payback and completed it, which is why I am comparing it to Payback. This is my opinion and whoever wants to respect it. P.S: Forza may be better in terms of gameplay, but I believe that no game can match the Need for Speed series in terms of customization!
