Description

Trident Z Neo series DDR4 DRAM memory is designed for sleek aesthetics and performance, making it an ideal choice for building a new PC system or for upgrading your system memory.

The Trident Z Neo series is specially designed to work with AMD systems and offers ideal performance and stability. However, they can also be used with Intel systems.

DDR4

DDR4 is the fourth generation of RAM (Random Access Memory) technology for computers. It replaces DDR3 and offers increased speeds and larger capacities.

Specifically, DDR4 offers operating speeds ranging from 2133 MHz up to 4800 MHz, while its capacity has been increased up to 16 GB per memory module.

Trident Z Neo operates at a speed of 3600MHz with 16GB of memory per module.

Compatibility

DDR4 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. For example, DDR4 is compatible with Intel Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake, and the latest Intel processors, as well as with AMD Ryzen and Threadripper processors.

However, to ensure compatibility with your motherboard, you must make sure that your motherboard supports DDR4 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and type of motherboard you are using.

XMP & EXPO

(XMP & EXPO) is a technology that allows us to boost the frequency and performance of our computer's memory without the need for manual adjustments. (XMP/ EXPO) works by storing pre-defined memory settings in the SPD (Serial Presence Detect) of the memory module. These settings can be automatically applied by the system's BIOS when XMP is enabled.

The Trident Z Neo memory supports (XMP 2.0/ EXPO) technology and offers:

  • Speed (XMP/EXPO): 3600 MT/s
  • CAS Latency (XMP/EXPO): 16-19-19-39
  • Voltage (XMP/EXPO): 1.35V

RGB lighting

The RGB lighting in the Trident Z series offers all the necessary tools and features to create a unique and impressive look on your computer.

This can be achieved either through the software provided by the company, Trident Z Lighting Control, or through compatibility with Sync Up software provided by motherboard companies.

The advantage of using Sync Up software is that it allows for synchronization of the RGB lighting across the entire PC.

Trident Z is compatible with Asus Aura, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, MSI Mystic Light, and ASRock Polychrome Sync software.

Cooling & Design

Dual-Tone Design

Designed with a contrast of black brushed aluminum and powder-coated silver, the Trident Z Neo dual-toned heatspreader adds power and boldness to your next-gen build.

Sleek Beveled Edge

Inspired by the racing stripes of sports cars and supercars, Trident Z Neo features a beveled edge along the top of the signature tri-fin design with the asymmetrical slant to achieve a sleek and clean look.

I had it with the 9900kf for 15 months, it works perfectly with a 11900kf and I have reached a stable 4400.

The kit was installed on an MSI x570 A-Pro with a ryzen 9 5900x. First, the bios was reset as I had bad experiences in the last 10 years with memory changes and always ended up with a bios reset, so now it's the first thing I do before changing ram modules.

They were installed without any problem, xmp was activated and they ran straight at 3600MHz without further adjustments (voltage etc).

In terms of performance, they are at the same levels as a 3200cl16 kit, maybe slightly faster but with a negligible difference (1-2%).

The rgb also worked without any additional settings and in terms of temperatures, they seem to be quite low, but I also have a 120mm fan in front of the motherboard blowing air on the RAM/MOS.

They were easily installed on the MSI B550 Gaming Plus motherboard and XMP profile was enabled through the Bios to play at 3600, as they were much lower with default settings. These specific ones, with a timing that ends in 39, are not Samsung but SK Hynix, if that matters to anyone. Their RGB is nice. So far, they are playing flawlessly without crashing.

I bought them in late 2019 and paired them with a 3900X on an MSI 570x Tomahawk WiFi. The synchronization was flawless and very easy at 3600 with heavy workstation use and occasional gaming. In September 2023, one RAM stick bid me farewell with blue screens and errors. I think I would buy them again.

They were installed on a mag x570 tomahawk with a 5600x... docp was enabled and I did some tuning on the primary timings... without touching the voltages, I set them to 16-16-16-34 and ran a memtest... everything was stable without a single error.

Update: a week and a half later, the lighting stopped responding... various recovery tools were tried, both in emulation and bare metal, without success... luckily, I bought them through a reputable seller and they were replaced without many questions

Try to avoid specific memories with Ryzen and also do not download the gskill program that changes the color of the memories, because it has happened that memories have been damaged because of the program. Let me explain why I do not recommend it, the reason is that both memories broke in no time in a new build and I sent them for RMA to gskill and I am waiting to see if the replacement will be accepted. Generally, from what I have read, these memories are not as reliable as the F4-3600C16D-16GTZR, one letter different but a big internal difference. I wish I had known this earlier

I have put them in an NZXT 510i case on an Asus Rog Strix X570-F motherboard along with the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X. It fits perfectly and looks very beautiful.
It is very easy to install and the only issue I had was that I simply had to change the settings in the BIOS to make it recognize the 3600MHz instead of the default.

I bought these memories 2 months ago, everything was fine. On the first boot, I set them to run at 3600 MHz and everything was still fine until now.
I have the Asus ROG Strix B550 F Gaming motherboard and almost every time I turn on the PC, a red light turns on above the motherboard that says "DRAM" and I have to shut down the PC from the button and turn it on again, which is not very good (many times it doesn't fix on the first try and it takes 2 or 3 times to work properly).
Two days ago, one of the DIMMs started blinking its LED and I will probably contact the store where I bought them to see what we can do

I have been using Intel i5 11600k for a few days because when I looked to see if they were compatible, I didn't realize that it was a different model with different letters at the end, due to carelessness. At first, I thought about returning them, but then I decided to do some research and found out that they actually work, they just haven't received official approval from the motherboard manufacturer. So, I thought, I'll just install them and if they work, they work. I did that and everything was fine, I entered Windows and saw that they were running at around 2200, which made me think that something was not right. Eventually, I realized that they just needed some BIOS settings adjustment, and now they are running smoothly at 3600, without any performance or argb issues.

Very fast memory 3600/c16, ideal for overclocking, easy RGB lighting setup - Works perfectly on both INTEL and AMD. I combined them with Intel i5 10600k on a new Asus Premium Z590-P... Truly fast and very beautiful... They immediately synchronized to 3600 via XMP... PS After 23 months, one of them started giving me trouble... Continuous blue screens and Windows reboots... so - 1 star... PS2: (Well done to skroutz for their immediate response regarding replacement, etc. since the product was still within warranty, albeit barely)

They worked in a set of 64 GB (I bought 2 of 2x16) and on an AMD 5900x, selecting the profile from the bios on an Asus Strix 570x E, as well as on an Intel 10900K with an Asus Strix 490 E without any bios settings, they adjusted themselves with the Intel's xmp.

They are slightly taller due to the RGB, but it is not excessive and they fit comfortably with an air cooler.

Beautiful RGB and powerful. It surpasses the other parts of the computer in terms of RGB intensity.

Combined with Ryzen 5 3600x without any OC, they are literally beautiful and (easily) user-friendly in the bios settings and I have them factory clocked at 3600 MHz with 8 months of use and no damage so far (+ they come with a lifetime warranty!). Visually, the LEDs are beautiful, especially if someone is a show-off like me :P and filled the machine with lights, it can even adjust the light modes through various applications from well-known companies like Asus' aura sync. They are used for gaming, surfing, meticulous editing, 3D modeling, and they haven't let me down! For now, I have 16 GB, but for an extra 115€, I will buy another pair and go up to 32 GB!

The ram is perfect, their speed is unmatched. The rgb is very nice (it takes a little searching to customize them as you want) it has many functions with the rgb. WARNING, if you have a motherboard like the Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro, there is a chance that they will not synchronize at 3600Mhz. Do a bios update and DO NOT enable XMP if they are not working at 3600mhz. Just set it manually and you're good. I highly recommend them.

Very good memories and quite beautiful as a fan of gskill since I have bought almost all models of very good construction quality, the specific ones on asus crosshair vi hero x370 motherboard with bios version 7901 and with a ryzen 2700x 3600mhz of course they didn't work I knew it from the beginning when I bought them but they did work at 3400mhz without any problems, now I updated to ryzen 3700x and they work perfectly at 3600mhz without any problems, the only negative is that I couldn't achieve very low timings with the dram calculator for ryzen, I mean with the previous gskill ones I had they were fine, the previous ones were the G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB DDR4-3200MHz (F4-3200C16D-16GTZRX) which I had set to cl14 from cl16, the only negative thing I find is this, otherwise I highly recommend it!

Fast, very beautiful with RGB effects, and elegant in size. They are worth their money. They maintain good temperature while running at 3600MHz CL16 with a simple BIOS adjustment. I use them with Asus Rog Strix X570-E Gaming motherboard and Ryzen 5950x processor. I wonder if they could also run at CL14 with overclocking.

    Update October 2023:

I installed 2 more identical 16GB modules to have a total of 64GB RAM. For now, everything seems fine and they work as they should in Quad Channel, always at the factory settings out of the box, meaning at 3600MHz and FCLK at 1800MHz.

Appearance-wise, I expected them to be better. In terms of performance, they deliver what they promise. With the B550 Aorus Pro motherboard, simply enabling XMP easily overclocked them to 3600. The plastic above the LEDs is not the best, as I felt it moving while I was placing it on the motherboard.

I have tried them on Intel asus Z390 XI Hero and the new Z490 series and they work without any problems with XMP1 at 3600 and the lighting synchronizes with Asus Aura without any issues, even though it is Ryzen optimized. You might ask why I didn't go for lower latency. It's because I frequently change platforms and I wanted memory that would work for both platforms. They have also been tested and work flawlessly on Asus B550e gaming.
EDIT: They have been working flawlessly for a while now on MSI Z690 Edge ddr4 with xmp1

X570i Asus Strix with Ryzen 3700x recognized without any problems and work perfectly fine. Personally, I haven't noticed any difference with the Trident Z RGB 16gb 3600MHz CL18, which I easily reached CL16-19-19-39 without even adjusting voltages. The upgrade was simply done for capacity reasons only.

Everything went perfectly on the msi meg x570 ace, it recognized them immediately and set them to 3200mhz, I opened xmp (profile 2) and set them to 3600mhz!
They have reached a maximum temperature of 40c!
I adjust the rgb through the msi dragon center and everything is harmoniously and perfectly synchronized with the other rgb parts!

One of the best choices for memory (if not the best) for the new Ryzen processors (3700x and mainly 3900x, 3950x) where their infinity fabric finds its sweet spot at 3600mhz and CL16. On my motherboard (x570 Aorus Pro), they worked on the first boot, with XMP profile 1 in the bios, at their factory standard. The RGB is also beautiful and their construction is of excellent quality. With overclocking but proper caution (running at 1.35V), their timings can be pushed.

XMP didn't work :( . And one of the two DIMMs was missing, resulting in Windows only recognizing 16GB.
With a lot of voodoo, I managed to make them work at 3600Mhz 16-(18-20)-20-36 1.37V instead of CL16-19-19-39 1.35V.
Other than that, it has a very nice RGB and syncs with the motherboard.

I bought these specific memories mainly because they are Ryzen 3000 optimized compared to the regular Trident Z RGB. I have the Ryzen 7 3700X with the Aorus AX370 Gaming K5, which according to Gigabyte supports up to 3200Mhz (OC), so I expected them to run at that speed. I wanted to keep them for my next motherboard, which is why I bought the 3600Mhz ones. However, I installed them and with just one click, by enabling the XMP profile, they ran without any issues at 3600Mhz, even with my not-so-great motherboard. They have very good compatibility with Ryzen 3000, even on older motherboards and not exclusively on X570.

Edit: I also tested them with the B450 Tomahawk and the same processor, and they run at 3600Mhz with the XMP profile without any problems.
