Description

The fruit of the author's long engagement with the teaching of quantum physics, this book attempts a new approach to teaching the subject at the most introductory level possible; the level of general physics. The main element of this new approach is the modular structure. The continuous material to be taught is broken down into a large number of self-contained modules that are also independently examinable. So that the student can "on the spot" check whether they have understood or not, by solving a small number of multiple-choice exercises. The educational approach of the book also differs significantly from that of modern physics books in this respect: Here the presentation of applications does not have the usual encyclopedic character - where the main emphasis is on presenting information rather than understanding - but aims to clearly highlight the fundamental quantum mechanisms behind them. The main purpose of the book is to teach quantum concepts through their applications.

The book is mainly aimed at second-year students of the faculties of natural sciences - mainly the departments of physics, chemistry, and materials science - as well as the polytechnic schools of the country, especially the departments of electrical and chemical engineering. But it is also aimed at the high school physics teacher who wants to give themselves a second chance to acquire the basic knowledge of quantum physics through a very short book written at the simplest possible level.
