It is always better for all your cables to be slightly longer in length in case you need them for larger distances from your machines in the future. Unfortunately, not all cables are available in all lengths. I have experienced several times in the past that my cables were too short and I couldn't make connections close to my machines, which was inconvenient. It is the worst thing not to be functional in your space.
