The library-closet is delivered in 2 packages, a smaller and relatively light one, and a larger, long and very heavy one, containing the main wood. So, the package was opened outside on the sidewalk and the pieces were transported one by one inside the house for assembly.
The initial impression was positive. The 4 main pieces of the sides are connected with quick-connectors that are installed in properly opened holes at the ends of the 4 sides (2 connectors per end). The same applies to the two shelves. However, the impression is that in order to be characterized as "professional", they used 25mm thick melamine (even for the shelves!) resulting in the final weight of +60 kilograms seeming excessively large to me. It is a sturdy closet, but I have the feeling that the above connectors may not withstand the first movement. So, I decided two things:
a. reinforcement of the connections internally with metal angles (2 per connection) and wood screws
b. removal of the 4 "legs" and installation of wheels (8 in total, 40mm each) for easy movement in my space. Also, the back comes in 2 narrow pieces of thin thickness that "slide" into slots on the 4 sides. A thin and long strap in the shape of an H that goes between them proved to be difficult to insert easily and without force, so I skipped it.
Disappointment came when I saw that the other 2 shelves (out of the total of 4) were not pre-drilled and the quick-connectors for them were missing. These were supported with metal angles and wood screws. Also, and even worse, the installation of the doors proved to be very difficult even for me, who am a technician and have skilled hands. Unfortunately, either the marks for the hinges on the sides were wrong or they were missing. I am not a furniture maker and I cannot know the correct procedure to follow in order to achieve the right holes for the correct position of the hinges on the sides without filling them with wrong holes. Also, the 8 hinges included are not the same, there are 4 hinges for the 2 doors with 2 holes for screws per hinge and 4 hinges with 4 holes for screws per hinge (which I used for the large and heavy doors). This means different holes on the sides for the upper doors compared to the lower doors.
With a lot of effort, the doors were installed with small mistakes that I tried to fix as much as I could with minor adjustments of the hinges. Here, contrary to the manufacturer, I put the small and lighter doors on top and the heavier and larger doors on the bottom.
The final result is beautiful with a good finish but excessively heavy. For its price, it is satisfactory but definitely does not reach the appearance, precision, and quality of the other 2 similar furniture pieces that I already have from NEOSET for more than 15 years (at a multiple price, of course). Finally, I have to say that from what is apparent and in the unacceptable instruction booklet for assembly, it was probably a "conversion" of an office library with a cabinet at the bottom into a library-closet with the addition of 2 additional doors on the top. A good idea but not properly prepared for a "home assembly" product.
