Eliminate Dead Zones in Your Home Wi-Fi
The TL-WA860RE is designed to easily extend the coverage and signal strength of your wireless network. With 2 external antennas, it turns dead zones into connected zones, helping to keep your mobile devices, media players, and computers connected to Wi-Fi with a reliable connection.
Plug and Play, Extremely Easy to Use
Users can easily extend wireless coverage by pressing the WPS button on the router and the Range Extender respectively. Once connected to a router, users can simply unplug and plug the Range Extender back in anywhere without needing to set it up again.
Designed for More Convenience
All that is needed for the device to operate is a power outlet to which it is connected. To ensure that no outlet goes to waste, it offers a built-in power socket.
Find the Optimal Position with Smart Signal Indicator
Smart signal lights show the strength of the signal received by the TL-WA860RE from the existing router, which helps in finding the best position for optimal Wi-Fi coverage.
More than a Range Extender
With the AP Mode function, the TL-WA860RE could convert the wired Internet connection into a wireless access point. Besides that, it could function as a wireless adapter to connect wired devices such as Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, DVRs, and Internet TVs.

a great little machine, 50 Mbps connection with a duplex on the first floor is the modem, with only the modem in the bedroom it caught one line with interruptions, it was placed exactly below in the living room and everything is perfect I stream normally no interruptions and minimal losses, the modem outputs 40-45 mbps and the repeater 35
I had version 1 and for security reasons I decided to change it with this one (V6). No comparison, day and night. Much better signal quality, no disconnections and greater security and speed. Value for money.
One of the worst products I have purchased from tp link, it worked for a month and after a reset, no device could detect it again. Unacceptably fragile product, from a company that usually leaves me satisfied.
Very good, I have bought it for both of my houses, I have stopped connecting from the regular Internet. I highly recommend it, it will save you a lot of work time and you will stop having to constantly communicate for Internet troubleshooting.
Purchased for 25€.
Installation was easy for me as an experienced user, but for someone who is not, there is a high chance of difficulty even though there are step-by-step instructions.
It does what I want with ease and without any issues. Wifi to ethernet access point.
I recommend it.
Owner of this product for about 2 years. After so much time, it starts disconnecting on me. Speed I would say is bad. There are 2 walls separating us from the router. About 20 meters distance in total.
Bad signal range, slow, loses connection and decreases the speed of the connection. I spent 2 hours today chatting with the internet company's customer service and it was the fault of this antenna.
I have a 100 Mbps connection and it was dropping the entire connection to just 10 Mbps.
WARNING!
The most important problem, apart from the mediocre speed, is that it can cause disconnections even on devices that are NOT connected to it (possibly due to a faulty "internal DHCP server". Disabling it from the web interface did not fix the issue).
PCs directly connected to the router via ethernet would randomly lose internet connection for months without any explanation. Eventually, it was proven that this specific Extender was responsible. As soon as it was unplugged from the socket, everything was fixed
The 20€ may seem like a small amount, but it's almost a waste of money as it is slow and cannot pass through 2 walls at a distance of 5m! Despite having antennas, I don't think they make a difference, and the 300mbps doesn't even reach 10 on a 100mbps network like Nova, when the same iPhone reaches 90 on the main modem. In order to even get a connection, I have placed it in T in the socket of the air conditioner at a height of 2m, but it still annoys you with its slow response. So it's better to get an ASUS modem Wi-Fi 6e for 150€-200€, and not an extender or mesh or anything else - since you can place all the mobile phones, IoT devices, and laptops outside.
I have the router on the ground floor, I placed it on the upper floor where I had weak signal and interruptions, and it worked extremely well with very satisfactory performance
It is an excellent product, I have 6 of them and I use them for wireless connection of a recorder with external cameras and independent external and internal ones. It synchronizes easily and is quite fast. I gave it 4 stars because the only downside I noticed is its slightly reduced range when connected to an external independent camera in a space with thicker walls.
It did absolutely nothing, in other words, a hole in the water. I connected it to the modem via the WPS button, it synchronized in a minute, I put it in a room at the other end of the house (70sqm house, don't imagine) from the modem, and although it shows a strong signal in the measurements, when I measure the Mbps it is lower than the modem. I tried it in many places, and outside the room in a straight line with the modem as an intermediate signal station and still the same. Waste of money.
Good range (each one covers approximately 35-45m2 of surface area, about 3-4 rooms, and one floor+/-, with the signal only weakening significantly after 2-3 walls or 2 floor tiles). I have bought a total of 3 (around 70-80 euros in total). With the following setup, I achieved very good coverage and stable connection in all areas at a very reasonable cost.
-1 piece on the ground floor where the router is located (about 8-9m away from it, and it covers a total of 95m2 including the basement)
-2 pieces on the first floor without a router (1 exactly above the corresponding point of the ground floor router, the 2 pieces about 4-5m apart from each other, and it covers another 95m2 in total)
advantages
- does not occupy the socket it is installed on (pass-through)
- we can change its position whenever we want to achieve optimal coverage
disadvantages
- sometimes the most "loaded" one (having more than 14-15 devices connected to it) can freeze (not often, maybe once a month), but it recovers quickly with a quick unplug-replug
Very good, I bought three of these and ended up using two. I gave one to my father.
It has a decent range and satisfactory speed, I would say, but it gave me quite a hard time connecting it to the router.
Good and cheap solution for extending Wifi at 2.4 Ghz. I put it in a difficult case in an apartment building, where I had to extend my network two floors up to the rooftop, in order to have WiFi there for a solar water heater controller. Although borderline and at low speed, it catches and has a stable connection, especially in winter. It doesn't offer any amazing functionality, but it is very easy to install and configure and can also function as an access point. Its configuration can be done either through an app or a web interface. It has basic security features, but no QoS. I note that as an extender it creates a second BSS and switches between it and the original one. One of the basic things that seems to be missing is the automatic periodic detection of the optimal channel. It probably only does it when it starts. But for its price, it's fine.
With an additional 5.00, you can purchase a dual-band, meaning you get an additional 5GHz zone and WiFi 5, which means double the speed as long as the device connected to the extender supports it. I bought it because I need the built-in socket that it has, and at a similar price, you won't find a dual-band with a socket.
Overall, I researched it quite a bit before purchasing because unfortunately, with wifi devices, you see reviews either at 0 or 5 with conflicting comments and it drives you crazy... Also, it's not a crazy purchase (20 euros) but if you fail 2-3 times with extenders and don't get the job done, you will cry because with that much money, you can get a very good dual mesh to have a better signal and get rid of the double networks, changing them according to the room.
Initially, I connected it easily to the ZTE H1600 router (Cosmote) via the WPS button. The distance between them is 5 meters with a simple wall in between (it's good to place it up to 3m without obstacles). I have a 24 Mbps connection and with a cable, I get 12.5 Mbps and a ping of 10. At a distance of 5m with a wall, my mobile phone directly from my router gives me 4/5 signal, a speed of 11.5-12 Mbps, and a fairly high ping (50). At a distance of 5m from the extender with a wall, it still gets 5/5 signal, 12.1 Mbps speed, and a ping of 20! I don't know how this happens...
Also, because I wanted it to reach the upper floor (a slab without insulation), in the room directly above it, it has 90-95% signal and speeds of 11.5-12 Mbps. If you change rooms and there's a wall in between, it drops to around 70%.
In terms of positives, you can connect it with a cable to the router for greater stability, it leaves the socket available, and you can turn off the LEDs so they don't bother you.
As for negatives, I will say that although the application has several settings and you can change the name (SSID), it doesn't allow you to change the password and you must have the same one as the router. Of course, if you don't want others who know the wifi password to benefit. I solved the issue by hiding the repeater's SSID. Otherwise, you can give access to separate MAC addresses.
In conclusion, it does its job very honestly for 20 euros. However, you must place it at the right distance and not have crazy expectations, for example, to get full signal in 3 adjacent rooms at 20-30 meters. It doesn't work miracles, it's a repeater.
PS
I see some negative reviews because it says it's bad for online gaming... Obviously, you're not a serious gamer if you expect to play online with a 20 euro repeater. There, you either run a cable or spend money on good wireless equipment to get close to the performance of a cable.
Simply perfect! It reaches from the 1st floor of the apartment building to the 2nd floor without any problem.
The apartment on the 2nd floor is right above the 1st one, but not exactly above the router's position. The installation with the play store program was easy, with the instructions a little more difficult.
I connected it to the router provided by Vodafone (100Mbps line). The installation is easy and the range is moderate. However, the problem is that it causes frequent restarts on the router, each of which takes 10-15 minutes to restore the internet connection. I contacted Vodafone customer service and although they knew that there is indeed an issue, one and a half hours later, the same problem continues. It is probably a firmware issue on one of the two devices. I did not encounter a similar problem on other routers that I have tried it on.
I was not bothered by its range, as it satisfies me perfectly for the area I want to cover, BUT...
communication is often interrupted and in order to reconnect, I have to unplug it from the socket for a while and plug it back in, or turn off the wifi from the router for a few seconds. Then it reconnects normally, until it disconnects again at some point. I have noticed that this disconnection usually happens when the connected devices are inactive for a long period of time (e.g. 1-2 days), but sometimes it happens in a shorter time. The good thing is that when devices are actively connected to it, there are no disconnections.
Fast to install even if someone hasn't installed the relevant app. Don't expect it to reach the speed of the router, but it is fast. For example, in my case, it gives 35-40 out of the router's 100Mbps, but compared to the fact that it didn't catch any wifi at all in those specific rooms, I am more than happy. I needed it for Netflix and mobile connection, and it works great.
It is the second one I buy and install, and even in different houses, I have no complaints. You can easily set it up with the TP-Link Tether app, and through the app, you can even adjust the signal strength, if you want to disable it for certain hours, etc.
Also, the Ethernet port it has at the bottom can be used either to get wired network from the router and transmit it wirelessly (which I have also tried), or to provide network to a device that receives wireless from the router. A big positive is that it has a built-in socket, so you don't "lose" the socket where you place it.
For me, it's a one-way street for these money.
I have it here for a few years now that my father has installed it and I can say that it's so-so...
Recently, I bought a PS4 to play GTA online and as soon as I start playing, it constantly disconnects me from the internet.... It's not worth it for 2021.
And it claims to have 300mbps but it reaches a maximum of 2-3
