Could the suspension of fundamental rights to address the COVID-19 pandemic threaten the "health" of Democracy? "Constitutional mythridatism" refers to the danger of tolerating restrictions on our rights even after the end of extraordinary circumstances. Because even after their passage, there is a risk that restrictions on individual freedoms, such as our private life, may continue or even intensify, using new state-of-the-art technological applications.

How do we defend our legal culture? The suspension of freedoms is such a toxic "treatment" that it must be strictly temporary. Can power, equipped with the "spikes" of technology, penetrate the cell of our individual freedom just as the virus with its own spikes affects biological cells?

The constitutional law is called upon to answer these questions, without succumbing to either "constitutional populism" or "constitutional mythridatism".
