Description
The Silmarillion, although published last and even after Tolkien's death, is first chronologically both in conception by the author and in content. It is the story of the First Age, which is occasionally referenced by the heroes of The Lord of the Rings, such as Elrond and Galadriel who lived from that time.
Anyone who has read The Lord of the Rings will now gain a comprehensive view of Middle-earth, its peoples, and the evolution of their history over the centuries. Conversely, anyone starting their acquaintance with Tolkien through The Silmarillion is sure not to stop there.
The Silmarillion is the story of the creation of Middle-earth. It is the story of the peoples who lived through the heroic First Age, long before the events of The Lord of the Rings (Third Age) took place.
In the book, apart from the story of the Silmarils, the jewels crafted by Fëanor, it also includes the Music of the Ainur, the history of the Valar, the fall of Númenor, and a chapter concerning the Rings of Power and the Third Age.
It also tells us how the First Dark Lord, Morgoth, stole the jewels and placed them in his iron crown in the fortress of Angband, and how Fëanor and his kin started an endless and desperate war against Morgoth to retrieve them. In the book, apart from the fall of Númenor, there is also the wonderful love story of Beren and Lúthien.

-Incredible book, awesome stories!
-I'm not a person who reads books and yet it's the first one that captivated me and in 3 weeks I read 300 pages..
-It provides details that make you create images in your mind based on what it describes, plus there is a map on the last pages that helps you navigate and look at the places mentioned in the story, along with a dictionary with various word interpretations and translations..
-Excellent book, I will also get the next books in chronological order!
-Show some patience for the first 15-20 pages and later on, from a certain point, you realize that reading it is not a waste of time! Excellent.Translated from Greek ·- Paper quality

Did you find this review helpful? The review is about readers who are not familiar with the series:
The book refers to events that happened long before the Lord of the Rings series and specifically begins with the creation of the entire world. It is an impressive book and the way Tolkien describes the creation of the series' world and its evolution is truly magical.
However, the book is quite difficult to read as a story. Initially, Tolkien refers to a huge number of landscapes, which he can describe for entire pages. Additionally, there is a barrage of names and cities/landscapes, and due to Tolkien's mastery of language, there are many creatures that are related and their names have the same root, such as Tur - Turin.
I would recommend it to readers who would like to further expand the world of the Lord of the Rings.
