In the essays of this volume, Marxist geographer David Harvey seeks the new historical coordinates that define the inequalities on a regional basis, based on which contemporary capitalism spreads worldwide. The theory of unequal geographical development needs to be studied in depth and its exploration is urgent, as social inequalities have widened in recent decades and can be identified in specific zones, mainly in the so-called developing world, which have experienced crises. The results have been devastating in cases such as Mexico, Indonesia, Russia, and Argentina. At the same time, different resistance movements to neoliberalism are devising proposals and strategies in the search for alternative solutions.
