Description

The heat pump MHC-V14W/D2N8 from the company Midea, has a power of 14.1 kW and can cover the needs of a house up to 141 m². It is a device that has the ability to extract existing energy from an external space and transfer it to an internal one, providing heating and cooling. In order to heat the space, the heat pump extracts heat from the environment and transfers it to the interior of the house in order to increase the temperature of the indoor space. On the contrary, in order to cool the space, it extracts heat from the interior of the house and releases it into the environment, gradually cooling the space.
It can be connected to single-phase or three-phase power supply, consuming a small percentage of electrical energy from the grid and extracting the remaining energy from the environment. This results in energy and cost savings, as there is no longer a need to purchase oil or wood. The use of electrical energy is only required during the heat pumping stage, not during its transportation. The ratio of energy required for the pump's operation corresponds to approximately 3/4 from the environment and 1/4 from the electrical current. This means, for example, that for every 3 kWh extracted from the environment, in combination with 1 kWh of electrical energy required for its operation, we have a total of 4 kWh of useful thermal energy.
The technology used is air-water, using air as a heat source and water as a medium of transportation. It heats or cools the water, which is then distributed inside the house.
The system is monoblock, meaning that all its individual components (such as the compressor, heat exchanger, fans, etc.) are integrated into a single unit, which is placed in an outdoor area. This offers you ease of installation and direct connection to the water system.
It is considered medium temperature, as the water temperature of the system can reach up to 60 degrees Celsius, and it can be combined and equally efficient with both underfloor heating and fan coils.
Finally, in any case, the proposal for the most suitable heat pump based on the needs is made by an experienced engineer. After studying, they will recommend the appropriate pump that will provide the maximum efficiency with the lowest annual operating cost. If you choose a heat pump with higher power than what the building needs, besides the higher initial cost for its purchase, it forces it into continuous restarts, resulting in pump wear and increased operating costs.

This review is about the rated thermal power (7ºc - 35ºc): 16.3 kW

I have had it for 1 month and I am very satisfied. It is quiet with an easy menu and great convenience with the mydea app. As for consumption, from what I have seen, it burns 1 kilowatt per hour.

This review is about the rated thermal power (7ºc - 35ºc): 8.6 kW

Used for 6 months in a 66sqm apartment with 3 fan coils, in the northern suburbs of Athens. The initial configuration was easy for the installer. It easily heated up during the winter, even on the few snowy days. The usage is easy from the menu, you just need to familiarize yourself with the operation of the heat pumps. In terms of consumption, I would say it is small, similar to a 12,000 BTU air conditioner. I don't have a complete picture, but I think it's around 4-8 Amps according to the panel. Of course, it depends on many factors, such as external temperature, insulation, desired room temperature, and installation. The quality will show in the future after years and what it will produce. So far, it hasn't had any issues.

Update after almost 2 years: The pump is working without any problems. It has also been connected to a solar water heater (specifically for heat pumps) and works flawlessly.
