Description
The Maxtra+ Plus Hard Water Expert replacement filter is Brita's most powerful filter, with 50% greater calcium reduction.
It is compatible with all Brita pitchers.
It is suitable for areas with medium and hard water.
Effectively reduces: limescale, heavy metals such as lead and copper, and chemicals such as chlorine.
For optimal performance, replace the filter every 4 weeks or after consuming 150 liters.

Instructions for Use
- Fill the clean Brita pitcher with cold water
- Immerse the filter in cold water, gently shaking to reduce any air bubbles
- Firmly place the filter into the funnel until you hear a click
- Filter and discard the first two fillings of filtered water
- Your filter is now ready for use

I live in Keratsini, but after some works by EYDAP, the water had changed. I was using the regular Maxtra filters, but still, the kettle and the coffee maker were collecting salts. With these filters, I can taste the water again, and the electrical appliances are in much better condition.

Slightly better than the regular Brita filters, the difference is not so significant, but it is noticeable. Maybe in a normal sample and analysis, you would see dramatically more, but as water, you don't perceive an excessive difference, but it does exist.

We have used the normal simple Maxtra+ cartridges before and we saw these, for very hard water areas. They are well made and seem to last longer than the old normal ones, so we are happy as our water is normally very hard. Like all of the Brita Maxtra range they are expensive. That is the only issue. But I would buy these again and I think they are very good.

I bought the filters for hard water. They do their job perfectly. They can handle 130 liters in very hard water. That's about it though. The taste of the water is like bottled water. I put the water in the kettle to test it with the salts. The kettle boiled, and the water crystallized!!! They do their job perfectly. I highly recommend them for very hard water

Did you find this review helpful? From the Brita jug filters, this one (the orange one) is indeed the best for areas with hard water (e.g. Crete).
The difference in the taste of the water is really noticeable, in cooking, hot beverages, even for drinking.
The water does not leave any salt residue on appliances (I use it in a steamer).
I would say that after a few uses, it helps to remove any existing build-up.
Also, by pouring a small amount over washed/rinsed dishes, it greatly reduces the salt deposits on cutlery, etc.

I checked with a water quality sensor and there was indeed a noticeable difference for the better. At home, I use a water cooler for bottled water, until I refill the bottle when it runs out I use the brita jug for cooking, washing, and I can comfortably drink without the water smelling from the tap.

For example, I have the same automatic coffee machine (Delonghi Magnifica) as my sister, who does not filter the water. The water tank in my sister's coffee machine needs descaling every 2 weeks. The tank in mine is still fine after 3 months!! This alone is enough proof that it does the job!
