Reviews
This milk raised an orphan kitten from the day of its birth until 5 weeks old! He never nursed from his mother, yet managed to gain weight normally with feeding every 2 hours at the beginning and then gradually less often (see chart and general advice from Hannah Shaw).
The powder dissolves easily in warm to hot but not boiling water, and has a very pleasant cookie - vanilla aroma and a sweet-salty taste that the animal really liked. It took 1 package of 400g and 1/2 package of 200g.
I did not fill the dosing spoon to the top, but a little below the edge. 2 not very full "spoonfuls" very well mixed in 50ml warm water (filtered or bottled or previously boiled for safety, as orphan kittens that did not nurse do not have immune milk against bacteria).
Indeed, the dosing spoon is confusing because it indicates ml while the instructions refer to grams. The dissolved milk remained in the refrigerator for only 2-3 feedings and any residue was discarded, for safety.
We used the excess milk powder very diluted with water in the wet food that started at 5 weeks (first half tsp of diluted wet food in the bottle with milk, and gradually increase wet food and decrease/dilute milk until it learns to eat from a shallow bowl).
The large package contained a bottle, a cleaning brush, instructions (probably need more frequent feedings) and 2 nipples, of which only the thin one is suitable for kittens. It took 2 nipples, as it chewed the first one when it got its first teeth. We needed to get a whole second package, as we could not find just the nipples, possibly available in another online store.
Minus 1 star because the kitten's waste was quite watery and unsightly.
However, the veterinarian who examined him at 3 weeks because we were worried, without having recommended the milk to us, said that the animal is healthy and the waste is normal, without diarrhea or dehydration. Therefore, the product, at least in some cases like ours, works with proper use and without underlying health issues in kittens. It was the milk recommended to us in the store, (the other one they had, from the same company, had even worse reviews online.)
Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful? It causes diarrhea in small kittens and intestinal problems. The dosimeter is in ml while the instructions are in gr. Unfortunately, it is widely available and is the most common milk substitute. I would never recommend it to anyone.
Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful? The worst thing ever. I lost 3 kittens (that I found on the street as newborns) because of this milk. Supposedly it is good, but the kittens didn't grow and in the end, instead of looking like 6 weeks old, they looked like 3. The reason we lost them? Malnutrition, even though I fed them every 3-4 hours. And I ask now, what kind of milk is this that even when you feed the kitten properly, it doesn't develop physically and eventually dies? Seriously, don't buy it, get something more expensive, it's not even worth giving it to me for free.
Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful? This milk is terrible!!!!! I switched to another slightly more expensive one and the diarrhea that the kitten had for 15 days stopped, and if I didn't know how to make a solution, I would have lost it. DO NOT BUY IT!!! It causes incredible diarrhea.
Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful?Very good milk, easy and my babies love it very much. Also, if you see your baby being lethargic, put a little sugar in the milk because I didn't know that babies have tantrums
Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful?Very nutritious milk, I consider it the best. Tried on many baby kittens and other sick ones. They love it. It smells like cookies, easy to prepare. It is available with a bottle, necessary!!! I highly recommend it.
Translated from Greek ·Did you find this review helpful?Very good. We made it quite diluted in order to avoid diarrhea.
