The definition of mediocrity. The PS5 has mediocre graphics, a mediocre story, repetitive and substance-less missions, as you don't even get a decent weapon like in Odyssey, and the changing map from Norway to England, etc., confuses you. It's not a bad game, it's just not a game that you would eagerly wait to open your console to play. I don't know if it's worth more than 20€ in price.
Well, this particular game, like all the Assassin's Creed games, is amazing. But after Odyssey, which I absolutely loved, especially the Fate of Atlantis DLC, it was simply epic with incredible graphics and story. And while I was expecting a similar evolution in Valhalla with a Viking story, I saw a game that had much fewer weapons and most of the chests you opened were just iron, leather, and a little silver. Plus, it took 50 hours to unlock a chest and it didn't even have any weapons inside. Also, you would enter a castle, clear it out completely, and only get one weapon if it even existed. In Odyssey, you had countless weapons and equipment that you could sell. I can't understand why they would change that. Regardless, it was still a great game, although I haven't played the DLCs yet because I wasn't as excited as I was for Odyssey.

Today I received it, coming from ac odyssey initially it looks nice in terms of graphics, gameplay as well, it seems good so far. The only downside that odyssey has, and this is that it is monotonous and endless in a bad way, I don't mind that they last many hours as games, on the contrary, I don't want them to end in 4 hours, I just wish they weren't so monotonous, the missions and side quests are almost the same from one to another. As for the price it is now, 15-20€, it is worth it and more for all that it offers, a great story (regardless of the monotony), nice graphics (not the best compared to horizon forbidden west) and finally nice as an RPG game, addictive with gameplay upgrades, etc. For its money, it's fine!
for the playstation 5 game, the gameplay is quite good, but the game is quite long, which made me get bored after fifteen hours. Also, you don't play as much as an assassin, you play more as a fighter and viking. If you have free time and want a game with battles, it's a good idea to play this game. Graphics: They are definitely good, but I didn't see any amazing difference from Odyssey. Maybe the flat world of Valhalla doesn't favor it compared to Origins and Odyssey. However, overall they remain at a good level, with countless beautiful landscapes, especially in Norway. The characters have details, but there are so many of them that it's logical for there to be a variation in detail.
Gameplay: Here the situation is strange. Initially, the game is a bit heavier than Odyssey, which is logical due to the Vikings' tactics. You can control two weapons simultaneously, while the animations are quite rough. However, the action in battles is great. And here the chaos begins. Initially, we're talking about 4 maps. In Norway, it's more compact. In England, it's truly chaotic. And 2 more maps, I won't spoil. We're talking about a huge size, so there's repetition due to Ubisoft. Supposedly, to not overload the map, they added colors and such to side quests and other things. But still, we're talking about chaos from the activities. Too many side quests that you have to do to level up and continue. The problem is that in England, you do the same thing in each kingdom. Terrible repetition. Very good that they added raids and there are cool battles. Very good element that you can upgrade your area incredibly with a bunch of things. In general, they added things, the gameplay has very good moments but also terrible repetition with chaotic maps.
Story: I found it terribly boring after a while. In another map, without spoilers, there is more interest. There is also a perfect crossover story with Odyssey.
Overall: This is Ubisoft's biggest title in terms of scope. They managed to surpass Odyssey. However, as Greeks and with the amazing Kassandra, there was a huge interest there with the incredible architecture as well. Valhalla does many things right with good gameplay, but it has terrible repetition, incredibly large and overwhelming maps, and a mediocre story. However, in the end, it remains a very good title with variations in its quality. If you do everything, it will take at least 200 hours. It's a game that requires a lot of time from you.
Unfortunately, I was expecting it to be better. Having started with Odyssey and Origins, this did not impress me at all. While it has good graphics, the landscapes are very repetitive. The story simply becomes boring after ten dialogues and many missions. As a game, the gameplay is very tiresome, especially in battles and intense moments. For €20, it's worth it, but not more, especially because the games in the same series are better despite being older. I do not recommend it for someone who has little time and values their time greatly.
Perhaps the most beautiful graphics in the series, no bugs at all, very nice gameplay (similar to Odyssey, with minimal differences) and story... well, it has opened up and gone too far, making it difficult to follow without checking on the internet what and how, but okay, it didn't bother me, I would say. The word bloated in the dictionary should be accompanied by a photo of Valhalla. In addition to the fact that the game was unplayable for a long period of time due to game-breaking bugs, after 90 hours to finish it, it's a big torture. If narcissism was a video game, this would be it.

I admit that despite the comments I have read, in my opinion, the gameplay may be almost the same as the previous ones, but the plot with some extra elements brings a different air to the game. Personally, I am satisfied with the PlayStation 5, and at a price of 27 euros, it is worth it. Then I say, let me have a purely next-gen title among all the games, and it truly is worth it.
Classic Assasins Creed, which everyone will enjoy - a constant value. Beautiful graphics, action, a sense of exploration, battles. It introduces several new ideas compared to the previous ones and generally tries to provide a slightly different experience.
In my opinion, it is very nice as it takes place in various locations: Scandinavia, Medieval England, and the divine Valhalla. However, I think that Assasins Creed Odyssey was a more enjoyable game than Valhalla. Valhalla gives a darker feeling compared to the bright Odyssey, and I find the naval element not as enjoyable. Nevertheless, it borrows several elements and manages to entertain the gamer. It is closer to older AC games in terms of player movement over buildings, parkour differences compared to Odyssey, and this may appeal to many.
3 stars with a lot of leniency... Good game overall, although it quickly becomes tiring despite having played all the Assassin's Creed games so far. The graphics are a transfer from PS4 to 5, so don't expect jaw-dropping visuals. Large map, many side missions. Worth it for 28 euros, but not more. If you are an experienced gamer and have played the AC games since the time of Ezio, you know that the last 3 games in the series have deviated from the logic that we all loved, they are something else - not Assassin's Creed. Besides that, the last 3 games are simply almost the same games with a different skin.
The plot of Valhalla is decent but nothing special.
Gameplay is okay, nothing amazing or new to show.
Graphics are also okay - don't expect the photorealism of other games.
Sound is also normal.
What kept me more interested was the Vikings skin rather than anything else.
Overall, it's mediocre, good for casually passing the time without captivating or exciting you.
At the price of €30 that I bought it, I think it's a very decent choice. Its gameplay and movements are typical, just like all the previous Creed series. However, if you're a fan of Vikings, I think it's the ideal game
A game that we all know before we buy it, what will we see. This year Ubisoft managed to stop entering my library shelves with Valhalla. It's a beautiful game but that alone is no longer enough, when we were kids that was enough.
After 140 hours and about ten more hours until platinum, the conclusion is simple. Those who enjoyed Origins and Odyssey should definitely try it, especially now that the price is around €35. For those who were not satisfied with the previous two AC games, there is no reason to play Valhalla.
Personally, as a fan of the series, I can't say that I was thrilled with Valhalla. Odyssey continues to be (for obvious reasons) the best for me among the last 3 AC games, but Valhalla has its own style. Its graphics are clearly improved, the map is truly huge, and it is aimed at someone who wants to spend a couple of months grinding and exploring every possible point of interest! However, no matter how beautifully the medieval England is depicted, I don't think it can surpass the beauty of the landscapes/monuments of Egypt or Greece. At least, this may be happening due to our proximity to the latter in relation to the Northern European civilization.
Beyond that, the story takes a long time to pick up, and personally, the whole story of the game was almost indifferent to me until almost the middle. After that, it does pick up and at least it won me over in the end, although the whole phase, especially in the Modern world, is becoming tedious! There are many side quests just for the sake of having them, and it also has some repetitive "puzzles" which, especially towards the end, become tiresome and annoying (yes, I mean the cairns!!)
Seeing the other reviews, I have to say that I played it on PS5 and I didn't encounter any crashes or bugs (probably because I started it in August and they had time to fix them), so it is quite safe at this stage.
In general, though, I can say that I enjoyed it even when it was frustrating me. Obviously, it requires a lot of time and it's not for someone who wants to finish it quickly. Especially at €30, it's a good opportunity! Skal :)
Perhaps the most boring and uninteresting AC in the series, slow story, pointless missions. The combat fight is very slow and not so easy to use, honestly I did not expect such disappointment from Ubisoft, I have truly loved every AC!
Having recently played Ghost of Tsushima director's cut and replayed The Witcher 3 once again, Assassin's Creed Valhalla feels very empty for an RPG open world game. The graphics are good, but nothing particularly impressive. The sound is decent as well. The gameplay and mechanics are average, and compared to Ghost of Tsushima, it doesn't utilize the dual sense as much as it should. The story is okay, but it didn't really move me. Overall, it's a mediocre game.
The Assassin's Creed series takes strange paths...
Stealth has gone for a walk, most battles are head on. It also has elements of resources management as you upgrade your base.
The story is interesting, but the connection to Templars and assassins is very weak.
Graphics and sound are impressive!
Trying to stay true to the roots of the first Assassin's Creed, Ubisoft makes a commendable effort to create an experience that satisfies both old and new fans of the franchise, without achieving it as expected...
First of all, the game is - hypothetically - a new ID of the series, which has taken a lot from the last two games. Whether we like it or not, I believe this will be the new direction of the series, so it's good to get used to it.
Something that bothered me in Odyssey was that the map had too many explorations to the point of being annoying. Under every hidden rock, there was a side quest, for that matter. For completionists, this was a nightmare. The same exact thing happens in Valhalla, to the same (if not more) annoying degree. It's not necessarily a bad thing, someone might say, who wants to play this particular game for months and considers the game's duration as value for money. However, if one considers the COUNTLESS bugs of the game, half a year after its release, then they reconsider. Getting stuck in walls or stairs, falling outside the map where you walk randomly, and glitched missions are encountered from the first to the last moment you play. It doesn't make the experience prohibitive, but it certainly ruins it to a great extent. For example, trying to get the Platinum, I have obtained all the other trophies except one, because a side quest has bugged and the dialogue to start it doesn't activate for me... So after 120 hours of gameplay (in the main game) and almost 800 collectibles, a small bug in a side quest made me frustrated. I searched everything and found no solution. You must have a lot of manual saves if you don't want to experience the same as me.
In other areas, however, the game is quite good:
+ Graphics much better than Odyssey.
+ Characters, story, and dialogues are very nice.
+ Satisfactory Combat System.
+ Good Item Management, you don't search for countless weapons, there are a few sets and you upgrade them easily.
Stealth is a bit worse than Odyssey for me, but it's a personal opinion.
As a game, it is beautiful and has many elements of a well-crafted game, but the overall experience one gains when finishing it is quite mediocre, due to the bugs and the chaotic map. Maybe when it's patched 100%, I'll go back for the platinum... I would rate it 7/10.
Hello, there are some differences compared to the previous two games (Odyssey, Origins) in terms of gameplay and world structure. Personally, the story seemed mediocre to good to me, but as a whole, they have changed quite a few things and it doesn't make it as monotonous as Odyssey. I would recommend it if the price drops to around 40

I got the Odyssey and had my first contact with the AC. I got bored in the first hour. I don't know why I bought Valhalla when I was so disappointed with the first one. I'M DONE WITH IT. It has several negatives (for me) with the most boring AI of opponents when you go stealth, but the graphics-music-story-atmosphere-dialogues-spirit of the game are amazing. If you like series/movies with Vikings, it's one of the games that you almost have to have in your collection. I really wish I could have someone else play so I can enjoy the story and landscapes without the stress of gameplay.
Update: In the 40 hours of gameplay with a lot but not exhaustive nonsense (side quests, etc.), I have the impression that I'm not even at 10%. And now, even if it ends, it has made its money. I estimate it will take me over 200 hours.
Update 2: 200 hours of gameplay and still haven't finished it. The story is good (not amazing), the battles are fantastic, and as the character gets stronger, the battles become epic. I have played all the AC games. A very good game in every aspect. I played it on the ps5, absolutely no glitches. It ran very fast without any lag. Graphics are incredible, perfect sound, combat is very good and quite different from the other Assassins. The story is very interesting, maybe a little repetitive after a point, but you forget about it. I recommend it for fans of the AC series, but also for any gamer.
I'm not a fan of Assassin's Creed in general...the whole series is strong, I won't deny it, but personally, I easily get bored of it! However, this particular one captivated me...and those who are fans of the Vikings series will love it! I bought it for 50 euros and it's worth 100%.
Mediocrity .. another copy-paste of previous AC titles with very few new features. The only thing worth playing is the performance mode for 60fps. I spent many hours gameplay searching for the interest that never came. If you have a PS5, try another title because it has nothing more to offer than a PS4 except for the 60fps.
It has nice graphics (not the best), it has a performance mode which I recommend because it changes the whole feel of the game to 60 frames per second without the difference in graphics being particularly noticeable compared to the so-called Quality mode. Large map (mainly of England), lots of things to do from side quests which I wouldn't say are repetitive, very nice character customization because it allows you to upgrade every part of the armor or weapons you like, nice leveling system and many more. A big story that gives you the spirit of the Vikings. The negatives are that the story is a bit shallow without any twists or something that I wouldn't particularly expect to happen, and also some side quests "get stuck" and you have to restart the previous save to start them again, unfortunately this happens quite often. Overall, it's worth every euro, the game has a lot of content and keeps you entertained for many hours.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a mix of Assassin's Creed, Game of Thrones, and Vikings. The game is well-crafted in terms of its storyline, with improved gameplay compared to Odyssey. This version plays in 4k/60fps on PS5. The graphics are polished, with minimal issues that are gradually resolved through updates from Ubisoft.
You start in the Scandinavian peninsula and move to England, then there is a series of short missions in North America, Asgard twice, and Jotunheim. Shortly after, you return to Norway.
The game's duration, if you don't only attempt main missions, exceeds 100 hours, and there are still DLCs expected to be released in spring-summer, along with additional content in the coming weeks. Unfortunately, it becomes repetitive after a certain point as you constantly do the same things.
The loading times are incredibly fast. The game's difficulty is laughable to the point where you bully the NPC characters of the game (we can adjust it from the beginning and change it later if desired).

2/18/2021: Having finished the river raids DLC, which was given for free to everyone, I can say that it is a mediocre addition to the game.
5/29/2021: The first DLC, Wrath of the Druids, has a story duration of 8 hours without the extras. There are technical issues that are expected to be resolved through updates. As the first paid content, it caught my interest more than the main story. The design of Ireland is satisfactory with green landscapes.
11/25/2022: On December 6th, Ubisoft decides to close the current chapter with the final update, as they delivered an unfinished product two years ago without providing a new game plus. Therefore, the game is not worth keeping on the console or computer for longer.

Δυστυχώς όχι, αγγλικούς έχει. Φαντάσου ότι ούτε το ac odyssey είχε το οποίο ήταν και ελληνικά τα τοπία και το στόρυ, μόνο κάτι άκυρες αρχαίες φράσεις πέταγαν περιπλανόμενοι χαρακτήρες.
Τι διάφορά έχει με την έκδοση Drakkar edition?
