Description

Express Yourself to the Fullest

Powerful performance and stunning image quality

Despite the small dimensions of the camera body, which is the smallest and lightest in the world, the a7C delivers stunning image quality, both in still images and movies, expected from a full-frame camera. Fast, wide, and stable autofocus, ultra-fast continuous shooting, and a user-friendly multi-angle LCD screen, to capture the action wherever it happens.

Make a difference with a larger sensor

The full-frame sensor makes it possible to capture stunning images, unique to this format. The a7C's sensor is twice the size of sensors in APS-C bodies of similar dimensions and up to 30 times larger than a smartphone sensor, for impressive images with greater depth and detail.

Compact size, easy handling

The α7C was designed to be small, lightweight, and easy to carry, without compromising on the authentic performance of full-frame cameras. This goal was achieved through the development of new mechanical components, such as a space-saving shutter and an optical stabilization unit, as well as through improvements in layout and structure.

Enjoy Full-Frame Supremacy

The full-frame sensor of the α7C not only captures more light. It enhances image depth, dynamic range, and detail, thanks to the large sensor and pixel size.

Capture all the beauty of the world

The 24.2 MP Exmor R™ CMOS sensor works with Sony's BIONZ X™ system for exceptional colors and 15-stop dynamic range, capturing detail and smooth transitions in all lighting conditions, both in photos and movies.

Stunning images even at high shutter speed or low light

The pixel sizes of the sensor offer an increased signal-to-noise ratio, for beautiful images with more detail in shadows and textures. Noise reduction is particularly effective at high and medium ISO sensitivities for subjects in fast motion or low light. The ISO100-51200 extends to ISO50-204800.

Get More Filming Options

Turn truly artistic films, with the exceptional control, image quality, and realism of full-frame

4K Recording for Beautiful Movies

The shallow depth of field provides beautiful background defocusing effects (bokeh). The full pixel readout, without pixel binning, offers supersampling equivalent to 6K recording, for a clear image with less moiré and reduced jagged edges.

Greater expressive capability with S-Log, HLG, and picture profiles

The S-Log3 captures a wide dynamic range of 14 stops, providing rich details in shadows and highlights during post-production. The HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) facilitates immediate playback and work with HDR, and the picture profile offers a variety of image capture settings.

Capture the action as it happens, with beautiful detail

The latest technology in autofocus and continuous shooting capability ensure that you won't miss the critical shot in a fraction of a second. The a7C optical image stabilization unit remains steady and blur-free, both in photos and movies.

The precise AF quickly finds the subject and keeps it steadily in focus

The α7C leverages the same advancements in AF as the α9, with the unique 4D FOCUS for fast subject detection and stable tracking over a wide area. The 693 phase-detection autofocus points cover approximately 93% of the image.

You won't miss a moment with fast-moving subjects

For better capture of moving subjects, the a7C shoots in continuous bursts up to 10 fps with AF/AE tracking and up to 8 fps in live view mode. With silent shooting at up to 10 fps with AF/AE tracking.

Reliable Subject Tracking

Intelligent Real-time Tracking and Real-time Eye AF by Sony

Reliable subject tracking means better portraits. As with previous models, you aim at the subject and press the custom shutter button halfway to start Real-time Eye AF. The a7C also features a new function where Real-time Tracking is activated by pressing the AF-ON button, even when not in AF-C mode. Focus is maintained even with the face partially in shadow or when the subject is wearing glasses.

Animal portraits in perfect focus

Real-time Eye AF for animals tracks and focuses on animal eyes

Successful shots of pets and other animals are much easier with advanced algorithm-based AF. Fast and accurate automatic detection and tracking of animals' eyes, instead of their nose or whiskers, keeps everything in sharp focus. Just leave it to the camera. It is reliable, even if an obstacle appears or if the camera's horizontal/vertical orientation changes.

Reliable still shots and handheld movies

Zoom, get close-ups, and capture night scenes more clearly

The 5-axis in-body image stabilization of the α7C compensates for five types of camera shake without loss of quality, even without a gimbal or in the dark. These are: [1, 2] angular shake (pitch/yaw) typically experienced with a telephoto lens, [3, 4] shift shake (along the X and Y axes), noticeable when magnification is increased, and [5] rotational shake (rotation around the Z axis), which affects night shots and videos.

Full-frame image quality for filmmakers

The side-opening multi-angle screen of the α7C offers easy viewing when, for example, a microphone is attached, a gimbal is used, or when shooting from various positions. Additionally, the headphone and microphone jacks allow you to use your favorite equipment, and thanks to the high-capacity battery, you can shoot for extended periods. Overall, the α7C is ideally equipped for vloggers and other types of creators.

Easy Movie Production

Small, lightweight, and portable, even with optional grip accessories

The LCD screen opens from the side for super easy self-vlog shooting, the optional grip and microphone combination is perfect for wireless vlogging, and digital microphone support offers crystal clear sound. Additionally, the popular vertical video format is supported, using metadata that allows playback and editing in the vertical position of shots recorded vertically, without the need to rotate them first.

This review is about the colour: Black

I have been using the Sony a7c for about a year now, mainly for video, in combination with the Sony 24-105mm f4 lens, which is the best hybrid all-around lens. It is superior to the a7iii in video, with better autofocus, tracking focus that the a7iii does not have, a better LCD monitor, and better colors in a smaller body. The cage is necessary because it improves the not-so-great grip. The only thing that bothers me a little is the very small viewfinder.

After 11 years with a full-frame DSLR mainly for professional use, I decided to switch to something more compact. The goal was to have full-frame quality in a smaller size so that, besides professional use, it would be convenient for travel/family moments. As for the positives, I will mention the obvious small size and weight (coming from a Nikon DSLR), the incredible autofocus, the low noise even at ISO 6,400, and the very good range of lenses (I highlight the Sony 20mm 1.8, which is the ultimate tool for architectural photography). As for the negatives, the menu is difficult, but this can be overcome by creating a custom menu with the basics. There are many online videos that explain the menu and functions.

It's wonderful, I've had it for about a year and I love it. The smaller size makes it more convenient for everyday use and easier to have with you constantly.

Impressive auto focus and image quality in a pocket-sized package. In terms of handling, the slightly unusual menu is easily overcome, while the missing wheel did not bother me.
The kit lens is very good for its size, perfect for a kit before moving on to something more advanced.
In conclusion, I really liked using it and it is perfectly balanced with smaller lenses like the Sony 35mm f1.8, which is now permanently attached to it.

It's worth it, you visually see the silver and it's beautiful... Below... It works flawlessly, video is exactly what it promises, I use it with a 24-105 F4 and it doesn't lose anywhere, I come from A6500 and also work with a7 iii, amazing image, clearly fast focus! For photography it's perfect but some buttons are missing and the second wheel from the body to be fast and comfortable in settings like the A7iii.
