It is not blue but gray. It is made of hard plastic and not metal. However, it does its job just fine.

Initially, it did not say anywhere that it was plastic.... I believed that like everything else, it would be made of aluminum. Secondly, the color (which in the photo appears to be something metallic or aluminum) has nothing to do with it. Now, whether it is made of durable plastic, as it says on top, time will tell.
