I wrote this book for you and for me. To remind you and to remember our shared trial, our common struggle. Because depression is ordinary and unique, insidious and transparent, vulnerable like ourselves. It was a way for me to tell you: This too shall pass. To reassure you - and at the same time reassure myself: our illness can be healed.
Our worst day is exactly that, and nothing more: a day that passes and brings us closer to healing. No matter what depression whispers to us, there is always hope.
We are made for better days.
