Yes, it's made of plastic but very easy to assemble (it's very important to pay attention to the two clicks when snapping it together) and just fine for inside the house, which was the reason I bought it! I wear size 42, so it fits two pairs. Boots due to a different shape than one pair!

Honestly, I wonder about the positive comments. The construction is a joke. Assembly not easy with problematic parts. Instructions in Chinese (literally). Weight cannot withstand at all. It went to the trash. I bought a wooden one and did the job. The dimensions are smaller than those stated. It fits small women's sizes, loafers, slippers, and children's shoes. Boots and large men's sizes forget about it.
