Description

Alexandros Antonopoulos, due to his grandmother Katina Paxinou and his grandfather Alexis Minotis, had the fortune to meet many legendary artists, both foreign and Greek. However, Maria Callas, for some strange reason, inspired him more than just admiration. They only had five brief encounters, surely insignificant to her but crucial for young Alexandros.

The first time they met, in 1958, Alexandros was eleven years old and initially felt fear towards her, which quickly turned into an enthusiastic friendship when Callas gave him his first white chocolate. Thanks to this white chocolate, he became a lover of opera and remains so to this day. And not only of opera, but also of Callas herself, who gradually imprinted in his mind as a symbolic image of passion and dedication to art.

DO NOT DISTURB MARIA CALLAS is the story of this image, as recorded in the childhood and youth soul of Alexandros - an image that now lies at the bottom of memory but still emits its enigmatic charm. But who was Maria Callas?

Reality, imagination, idealization, and demythologization intertwine and distort the fragile substance of the truth of events, which seems increasingly inaccessible. All that remains is the truth of our feelings.
