Through this review, I would like to make a statement about the amateur or professional use of tools (in general). Let me clarify that I am an amateur, although I have occasionally needed to use such tools for professional purposes, mainly in the workplace. Therefore, I believe that someone who screws more than 1000 screws per month, drills 500 holes in walls or wood (I am giving an approximate estimate) is considered a professional and must necessarily have professional tools (Milwaukee, Dewalt, Metabo, Makita, Hilti, etc.) worth more than 300€. For those of us who will drill 2 holes per year for a frame or a shelf and screw 10 screws or assemble a small table, a tool like this is more than enough. Is there a chance that it might fail while drilling a hole? Of course, there is a possibility, but if I treat it properly, it might serve me well for 10 years in my house and summer house. The point is that I can do my job (always with a low-profile behavior towards the tool) and save the money I would have paid to a professional who would do it quickly and easily with a 300€ tool (because he is a professional and needs such an expensive tool, while for me, the Craftsman tool is more than enough)!!! So, I would say that if you are an amateur who wants a drill for occasional tasks, get it blindly. If it is for more intensive use (even semi-professional), go for something more expensive. I think I made myself clear and for those of you who intend to spend money on an expensive tool that you will keep in a suitcase on the balcony just to look at it and admire it, as soon as you throw away your money, get the Craftsman and you will do your job just fine. With patience and love for the tool and the hole, you will drill and screw without having spent a fortune on something you will use 5 times a year!
It charges its 2-amp battery quickly, it has a nice design, its chuck does not loosen easily when unscrewing, it is lightweight, it has a good grip, it makes a little noise, its impact is decent, it is slightly eccentric, and the combination of orange and black colors is nice. Overall, it is a decent choice at this price.
A quick update after 8 months of use. During this time, I used it to install a shelf (drilling and screwing), mix cement, screw about 50 screws, and clean the house's pans and a grill with a wire brush. Did it do the job? It did and more. Did it wear out? Very little. Could it have failed? Of course, it could have. But for now, the drill satisfies me and more.
I did not expect this for the money. Time will tell about its durability, of course
