Through the eyes of a "non-expert," the author focuses on those aspects of the lives of ancient Greek women that have been misunderstood more, due to the incomplete approach of sources by contemporary scholars. By presenting abundant excerpts from ancient Greek literature, he tries to give a more accurate picture of women's life in ancient Greece and especially in ancient Athens, a picture that does not deviate either towards biased embellishment or towards the equally mistaken exaggeration of definitely existing negative elements and situations.
