On that Saturday morning in April 1850, Yiagos Touhas, a battle-worn warrior of 1821, will ascend to the Plaka square with his sixteen-year-old granddaughter. There, at the café "The Brave Greek," groups of young students gathered, creating intense debates in anticipation of the blockade of Greek ports by the English fleet. These groups were nicknamed "the children of Plaka," mainly because of one group that impressed with its views and promises to confront the English in case they came to Athens. Captain Yiagos expected to find answers to questions that his revolutionary actions had raised in these debates, while Eleni was driven by her love for one of the protagonists of these debates.

Just the rumor that English soldiers had disembarked in Piraeus and were heading towards Athens would have unexpected consequences for promises, expectations, and loves.
