Awesome processor for its price. I have it with a low height (47mm) Thermalright AXP90-X47 full copper in an ITX case, the K39 V2. I have set it in the BIOS to draw only 88W (custom ECO mode) and set the maximum temperature to 90 degrees, which it never reaches due to the 88W. Additionally, Ryzen Master showed me that all six cores can go -30 on the curve optimizer, so I adjusted it accordingly and it's rock solid.
With the 88W setting, I have 100% performance in single core, just like before, and around 95% in multi-core, but with 20-25 degrees lower temperatures. And don't forget, I am using a copper heatsink, albeit a very small one for ITX cases.
A very powerful entry-level processor with very good efficiency.
What those who buy it should pay attention to are the temperatures and the RAM.
Temperatures:
It is designed to run at 95C constantly and to boost up until it reaches that point. Once it reaches that point, it stays there as long as there is a load. This means that the better the cooling someone has, the better the processor will perform, but it also means a lot of noise from fans and many people worrying when they see the CPU constantly in the red. Finally, it also means that whoever pays for this CPU and doesn't invest in good cooling will have lower results than they could.
RAM:
Up to 6000 speed with ideal settings being 6000c30. At higher speeds, it loses performance due to being de-synced from the infinity fabric.
Classically, AMD does not disappoint. The 6 cores are sufficient for gaming on most graphics cards (except for RTX 4070 Ti, RX 7900 XT, etc.). One of the 'downsides' of the processor is the temperatures. If you don't have a good air cooler or liquid cooling, you're done.
It works flawlessly and it has impressed me that it plays full graphics smoothly in games like Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter and Borderlands 2 without a GPU. It is combined with a Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX, RAM G.SKILL DDR5 32GB KIT 2X16GB PC 6000 TRIDENT Z5 NEO RGB F5-6000J3238F16GX2-TZ5NR, M2 SSD Samsung 980 PRO 500GB for Windows 11 boot, ARCTIC ARCTIC LIQUID FREEZER II 280 cooling with MX-6 paste in the Lian Li Lancool 216 RGB White case. The temperatures on the processor range from 34 to 44 degrees in CO mode no matter what I'm working on (games or video editing). Personally, I am very satisfied and it will soon receive assistance from a GPU.
Only with a very good cooler or AIO. Forget about putting a cooler for 30-40€. It performs ALMOST like a 5800x3d in games and like a 5800x in other tasks. It got a four-star rating because it runs at high temperatures, although this can be fixed with CO and thermal limit at 75/80 degrees.
Attention to its price. It has skyrocketed since September.
With an update at 88W PPT, it doesn't reach high temperatures and performs almost the same as at 142W. So, it deserves 5 stars
The processor of the 7000 series with the best quality/price ratio. The presence of 6 cores makes it ideal for gaming and not for other demanding tasks. There is no reason to go for the 7700(x), as various benchmarks show the same performance in 1440p gaming. If you can go for the 7800x3d, it's worth it.
DO NOT WORRY IF YOU SEE HIGH TEMPERATURES! The Zen 4 boost algorithm is designed to push power recovery up to 95 C, as confirmed by AMD, so they are intentionally designed this way to maximize performance. Once these temperatures are reached, the processor will thermal throttle and there is no danger as it automatically reduces performance. If you have better cooling, it simply means that the throttle will occur later, resulting in slightly better performance (with the thermalright peerless assassin that I have, it works perfectly fine, no need for water cooling).
I have paired it with the 7900 XT, and it works flawlessly. Again, it is NOT for video editing, rendering, Photoshop, etc. I think the 6 cores might be insufficient. I do not recommend the 7600 without the x because it has a worse pre-installed cooler. And there is no reason to hinder the automatic overclocking it does, as it may result in better temperatures, as you won't be utilizing its full capabilities.
I come from Ryzen 3 1200, so any processor I would get would seem divine to me. However, so far it runs smoothly and quickly with everything I have tried. Heavier applications will follow, and if any problems arise, I will come back. Get a good cooler, as it raises temperatures, so it is necessary to purchase a cooler between 25 - 50 euros
After many hours of research and experimentation on temperatures and performance, the solution is as follows: don't listen to anyone on YouTube, download Ryzen Master, disable auto overclocking, and set it to 5.2GHz with an undervolt of 1.11 (gradually increase from 4.7 to 4.75 and from 1.20 to 1.19, apply and test for 10 seconds, and continue). Maximum benchmark temperatures are 90 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures in games are 70 degrees Celsius.

It was time to replace my i7 6700. So I bought this processor with an Asus ROG Strix B650 A Gaming WiFi motherboard, Kingston Fury Beast 32GB RAM, and PowerColor 6750XT VGA. There are some issues with the BIOS, for example, when XMP is enabled, the computer takes longer to boot up. I solved this by enabling Memory Context Restore. I believe that future BIOS updates will fix this issue. In terms of temperatures, it hasn't exceeded 75 degrees (I have installed liquid cooling). So far, I am satisfied with the processor.
At 250 euros, it's close to the international MSRP. The TDP is higher because it has a higher clock speed. The non-X version can be overclocked to reach it (although AMD claims that the non-X version has better power management). Personally, I don't consider the need for a cooler to be positive or negative. Also, because we're in Greece, the non-X version is currently more expensive. If the price of the non-X version drops by at least 20 euros, get the non-X version. Otherwise, get the one with a 25 euro cooler (like the Pure Rock Slim).
The processor does not cause a significant (less than 10%) bottleneck in the RTX 3070 at 1080p. There are no such issues at 1440p+.
I want to add that without touching the BIOS, using the A35 cooler, I keep temperatures around 40 degrees. Additionally, for the dilemma of whether to buy this processor or something from an older generation, the question simplifies as follows: if the motherboard I'm using supports the Ryzen 5000 series, I can go for the 5800X, otherwise it's better to go for the next generation of processors.
Attention, the 7600 (without the X) is coming without a cooler, take the one that comes in a Box with a cooler, it runs at lower temperatures, consumes less power and has the same performance.
ισαξιος σε gaming με τον 7700x . προσοχη ομως στην τιμη του. εχει αρχισει και ανεβαινει κατακορυφα. στα 220-230€ αξιζει αλλα τωρα βλέπω πηρε την ανηφορα. μην ξεχνας οτι θες ειτε πολυ καλη ψυχτρα ειτε 240ΑΙΟ για να τον ψυξεις=αρα εξτρα κοστος
Έχω τον συγκεκριμένο επεξεργαστή, και προσέχω ότι σε αδρανή κατάσταση κάνει σκαμπανεβάσματα στις ταχύτητες από 3.8 ως 5.2 Ghz.
το έχω ελέγξει και με το task manager και με το hwinfo64.
το έχετε προσέξει και εσείς;
επίσης σε 4Κ gaming, θα έχω θέμα bottleneck με μια 7900χτχ?
