[...] The arrangement of our studies aims to highlight this struggle between tradition and alienation. We begin with the parallel convergence of patristic theology and philosophical intellectualism (Eugenios Aitolos - Korydallos), which demonstrates the continuity of our spiritual tradition's inherent division, which begins already in the early Christian centuries with the appearance of Gnosticism and other heresies. We continue with an effort to rescue the ecclesiastical tradition in the Venetian-dominated Ionian Islands and to contrast Orthodoxy from Western heretical delusion, with a parallel (patristic) affirmation of (Western) science (Damodos). The struggle for unity within tradition and the spiritual empowerment of subjugated Romiosyne, within the Greek context, is evident in the person of Saint Cosmas of Aetolia. The Holy Scripture at the boundaries of Roman enlightenment and heterodox propaganda could be titled the study of its Neohellenic translations. The conflict between patristic tradition and Western-oriented enlightenment is clarified with references to Korais or Cairo. Finally, the remaining topics seek to demonstrate, through internal Greek developments, the course of our alienation and the factors that make it a social act. [...]
