Owner of G PRO X, G PRO, and Razer Viper Ultimate.
Night and day difference between G PRO X and the original G PRO in terms of plastic quality.
However, it still has some of the same issues as the first one.
The Hero optical sensor is excellent, but there is a performance ceiling with even the best sensors on the market, whether it's Razer or Logitech. You won't notice a difference in high-end models. But yes, it's still excellent.
It now has Omron 20m switches, which are found in cheaper Logitech mice and don't have the double-click issue that all expensive Logitech mice have (like the G PRO). However, it's disappointing that Logitech chose to go with something so cheap instead of better Omron or even tried-and-true Kailh GM 8.0 or 4.0 switches, which are now the standard in the enthusiast market. Also, the noticeable debounce delay is a negative for those who want high CPS (clicks per second) in certain games.
If you have sweaty palms, using the mouse in a palm grip may be uncomfortable because the surface is too smooth.
Once again, the mouse feet on the Logitech mouse are terrible. While they've moved away from the classic cheap black PTFE feet, they now use pure 100% PTFE feet that are incredibly thin, making them easily scratched and useless in some cases. If you plan to buy this mouse, it's best to get aftermarket feet like Corepads. Personally, with use on a hard pad, they lasted two weeks before problems arose, while with other "top-tier" mouse feet like those on the Razer Viper Ultimate or Pulsar Xlite, they lasted for months without issue.
Finally, it comes with the same bad cable as the G Pro. It's as if there's no chance you'll use the mouse while it's charging.
Something I hoped to see in the G PRO X was the charging dock that's incredibly convenient and was seen in the Razer Viper Ultimate.
Overall, I feel that Logitech is trying to cut costs wherever they can, sacrificing the user experience.
Aside from the above issues, which are minor and not deal-breakers, the only problem that bothers me is that the plastic on the clicks moves left and right with minimal movement, causing them to touch each other when I want to click or even overlap each other. Also, with a finger-tip grip, there is a wobble effect when I have my fingers at the beginning of the click.
Overall, it's a very good mouse, with no delay or interruptions in the connection and a very good battery. Perhaps overpriced, but the options in this budget are the Razer Viper Ultimate and the G PRO X when it comes to high-end mice.
The build quality issue may have been unique to me, or it may be common across entire batches.
