This work aims to research and study Social Cooperative Enterprises in Greece. It approaches Social Cooperative Enterprise, examines how this institution, as a form of economic activity, independent of the public and private profit-making sector, can be an alternative solution to the problems and crisis caused by the globalization of economic relations today. Specifically, it identifies the emergence and causes of cooperatives in Europe. 

The basic theories of cooperatives are developed and the precursors of modern cooperatives, their ideas, and the emergence of the first cooperative groups in England, France, and Germany are recorded. The relationship between cooperative law and the economy is analyzed, the dimensions and consequences of the phenomenon of globalization as an economic phenomenon and its interaction with cooperatives are determined. The relationship between cooperative law and politics is then examined. For this purpose, indicative excerpts from Parliamentary Proceedings and Explanatory Reports are presented. An attempt is made to define the concept of social economy according to Law 4430/2016, its forms and manifestations, as well as the role that social economy is called upon to play by the enactment of the aforementioned law. 

The way in which cooperative law expresses the ideological principles and values of the concept of cooperatives is also approached, while the cooperative identity, cooperative principles and values, and how they are embodied in the institutional framework are determined. As for the legal part of this work, social cooperative enterprise is approached as a subject of law. The sources of cooperative law are analyzed, while the application of the law is traced through an empirical research that demonstrates the dynamics of the institution.
