Description

The electric espresso pot Vitro from the company Monix, has a power of Watt and can make up to 6 cups of coffee. It is a much more economical solution for making coffee compared to an espresso machine, and to operate it, you simply need to turn it on by pressing the power button. The coffee-making process is very simple: Fill the bottom part (water container) with water, without exceeding the height of the safety valve. Then, add ground coffee to the conical filter, without pressing it, remove any residue from the rim, and place it on top of the water container. Finally, screw the top part of the coffee maker onto the water container and turn it on. Once the water boils, the extraction will start, offering you hot and fresh coffee.

Its operation is based on steam pressure, like an espresso machine, although the pot produces much less pressure (usually 2 to 3 bar). The coffee you will use should be slightly coarser ground compared to the grind for espresso machines, in order to extract properly. It has a heat-resistant handle, allowing you to easily and safely serve the coffee in your cup.
An important advantage is that it takes up minimal space in your kitchen, and it can be easily transported everywhere thanks to its small size.

It is advisable to clean it after each use, using water and soap, to prevent coffee residues. Additionally, it would be useful to periodically descale it, as like any metallic appliance that comes into contact with water, it tends to accumulate salts.
It is made of stainless steel, which provides greater durability and resistance to use and time, while also being easy to clean.

Apart from the previous negatives, I discovered that inside the water tank there is a silicone coating which deteriorates over time, resulting in consuming silicone solution with every coffee

Flawed design/materials. 1) It requires a very strong tightening, I added an extra gasket. 2) When the coffee comes out of the spout and you don't have the lid closed (which you should have to control the progress), the coffee splashes out of the container due to clogging. It is very easy to get a burnt taste.

Edit 2022: 6 years later, I tried it again, and a solution is to use LOW HEAT. You need to be very careful when you start hearing the clogging sound, close your eyes. In an electric coffee pot, if necessary, we remove a little from the heat to stop the flow. As soon as the extraction starts, I close my eyes. Essentially, the extraction is done with closed eyes. I don't negate the 1 star because there was indeed an issue with the gasket that was fixed by adding a second supplementary gasket.
