The processor it incorporates is the AMD Ryzen 7 7730U clocked at 2Ghz of the Zen 3 generation. Usually chosen for demanding applications such as image processing, video, and sound. Also features an integrated graphics circuit that can be used for light gaming.
Has 16GB RAM DDR4 and is recommended for demanding applications such as image and video processing, music production, and sound editing.
The resolution is 2560x1600. Equipped with a disk SSD of 512GB. This capacity is sufficient for the operating system, for additional programs beyond the basics, and for storing a considerable volume of photos, videos, etc. If it gets full, there is the possibility of purchasing an internal or external disk.
Includes the operating system Windows 11 Home.
The Card Reader it comes with is useful for the user who is into photography and video. Otherwise, the purchase of a separate Card Reader will be necessary, which will also need to occupy one of the existing USB ports of the Laptop.
With the fingerprint capability, in addition to increased security, logging into each account becomes easy and fast. Otherwise, you will always need to type in your security codes.
Finally, it offers connectivity options such as HDMI, USB 3.2, USB-C. With the HDMI port, you can connect an external monitor, TV, or Home Cinema that has this specific port for the purpose of extending the workspace, projecting movies from the Laptop onto larger screens, and transferring sound to higher quality sources.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
My dad just got this computer. It's excellent, with a very nice screen, a battery that lasts from day to night, and it can also connect to a mobile phone. Also very fast, and a nice thing called NumberPad (on the touchpad), which has a button to turn it on and off, and you can use it for typing numbers, mathematical symbols, etc.
Let's start with the basics ... This particular laptop is aimed at people who want to work on it and not play games.
We're talking about a laptop with a very nice keyboard (backlit) and a very good battery. The 14 inches on the screen are just right, neither too small nor too large. It fits comfortably in a backpack and I would suggest a 5-euro case to avoid scratches inside the bag.
If you use a mouse, then the numpad that appears in place of the touchpad is perfect for doing calculations on the calculator and generally for typing numbers wherever needed.
The laptop, when in Performance Mode or balanced from the battery settings, works flawlessly and runs everything perfectly. When it switches to Power efficiency, it’s reasonable that it doesn’t respond as quickly.
The screen has quite good brightness and colors, of course, it doesn’t compete with OLED, but I will say that if you want to go for an OLED screen on a laptop, you need to be very careful about many things to avoid it breaking down in a short period.
It weighs less than 1.5 kg, so you can open it and work even inside the car.
Even when idle, if the laptop is in Performance Mode, it raises temperatures above 80 degrees.
Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade the memory in the future if you want to make it 32GB.
You can comfortably do light gaming. I have played in the last few days League of Legends, Valorant, Sid Meier Civilization IV, SimCity, Cocoon, Red Alert III, Counter Strike, Age of Empires IV with some compromises on graphics but at 2K resolution.
With the VPN open and RDP at the office, I managed 8-hour shifts and the battery still had 25-30% left with moderate screen brightness.
Some extra positives/negatives
Positives:
- You won’t find such a battery on the market. With the right settings, the laptop lasts 5+ hours and 12+ hours with battery saver on.
Negatives:
- The charger does not take another cable (like those of Mac), so if, for example, the cable breaks, malfunctions, or you want a longer one, unfortunately, you cannot change it...
- The FingerPrint 9/10 does not read my fingerprint at all or does not recognize that it is my finger. (I don’t know if it’s a malfunction of Windows 11)
- Unfortunately, for some reason, Asus chose to place all the ports on the right (HDMI, 2 x type C, micro jack), resulting in not having as much space as you want to use a mouse.
- I believe the WiFi antenna needs improvement; my phone (Samsung S22 Ultra) picks up a better signal.
The FN key is located between the left ctrl and Start; I would prefer it on the right.
- It easily collects fingerprints.
- It easily collects dust on the screen and keyboard (something that didn’t happen on Macbook Pro)
My previous laptop was 9 years old with an Intel i3 processor.... with a poor screen for modern standards and heavy. So, as you can understand, the difference was huge.
I will start with the positives:
- It has excellent screen quality
- Unbeatable battery life (with battery saving, without charging it can last 8+ hours)
- Fast with some glitches (I expected something better for the money. It has happened to wait for 3+ seconds for a page to open. It's not common but it happens).
- Sometimes I play LOL, it responds normally without glitches.
- Large capacity (1 terabyte). Over time, if you use it intensively and store photos, videos, files, 500gb is not much.
- Opens and closes very quickly.
- It is small and you can put it in your backpack taking up minimal space.
- Subjective but it has a very nice design and the keyboard brightness is very convenient in low light conditions.
Negatives:
- As mentioned, the speed is disappointing sometimes. It doesn't seriously delay and I can't say that waiting tires you. I think for this money there shouldn't be speed problems. I think I notice the problem when I fill it with many tabs (up to 20) and some background apps running.
- As a small laptop, it overheats easily. It is good to get a stand so that the air can be expelled more easily.
Of course, overheating and speed are also related to the use that each user will make.
I will come back if anything changes.
