Gaming keyboard by Dareu with illuminated keys in US English. It is mechanical, making it ideal for gamers as well as for those who desire fast typing. It has quick response and accuracy, as its switches activate at half press, saving movements when typing. Compared to membrane keyboards, they last longer over time, but have the disadvantage of noise, which is often annoying for those around. It features Custom Blue switches that require more force making them suitable for typing rather than for gamers. They are quite noisy, something to consider before purchasing. Pressing a key, it is noticeable by the sound that it was pressed and typing becomes more efficient. It is 60% the size of a standard keyboard, requires less space on the desk and does not have numeric keys on the right side. Connects wirelessly to the computer for greater comfort and flexibility.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
I found this keyboard here on Skroutz, supposedly with red switches, I ordered it from the link here to an external store, but it turned out to have blue switches (and it was correctly listed on the store's page as blue switches but I didn't notice). So I am reviewing it with the blue switches.
The construction is of mediocre quality. It has an aluminum coating on top to look like metal, but it is plastic. Of course, this doesn't bother me much. The weight for its size is rather normal, perhaps a little heavier than expected. It is not heavy to move daily if you want. It has good support on the desk. Its feet have two positions, one is a light tilt and the other is slightly raised. Personally, I prefer my keyboards to be completely flat so this is not particularly good. And I don't know if it will also cover those who want their keyboards to be very tilted.
It connects with a cable, theoretically and wirelessly (I haven't tested it as I'm not interested). And it works either with Windows (PC) or Macintosh; I use it as a PC.
The blue switches make some noise, but not as much as full-height blue switches (both the switches and the keys are low-profile). They help you type relatively quickly and without many mistakes, but their feel is particularly mediocre, at least if you had another mechanical one before this.
Now let's move on to the most problematic things. It has NO FN keys at all. And I mean there are no combinations with FN that give F1-F12. Only if you switch it to Mac mode then keys 1 to 4 become F1 to F4 respectively, in combination with the FN key. Keys 1 to 0 and then - and + are generally "multimedia keys" but the joke is which ones are they? They are not even the ones listed, but they perform other functions... Anything goes. There are no combinations with FN that give Home, End, Print Screen, Scroll Lock, Pause. In practice, combinations with FN are only for multimedia keys and lighting. I consider this to be the most problematic part of the keyboard because if a program needs any of these keys, you simply have to connect another keyboard to press it. And the FN key, besides being useless, is not even conveniently located.
A very mediocre purchase.
