As a pianist, I must express my enthusiasm and say that this particular model has completely changed the landscape of digital pianos, for which you once needed 1000 euros for something mediocre! The key is exemplary [no comparison to the budget counterparts like the Korg B1 or Thomann DP45], the sound is rich in harmonics with excellent volume. The only thing that is completely unsuitable for a pianist (but not for keyboard players) is that the pedal is plastic and in the form of a button (on/off), therefore it is ONLY for those who play at weddings and parties. The problem can be solved with a new proper pedal for 30+ euros. Those who believe that because they spent 395€ they have splurged while they "should" be buying a cover, stand, or recording equipment, might need to consider that it is an excellent instrument but only for one job: to sound like a piano. For more specs, they should look at the Nord models that cost 4000€ or the purchase of a new piano with a lid for 8000€. Those who know recognize that 395 makes a good VST on its own! Happy playing!
UPDATE 2022: You will find better keys on the Roland FP-10.

I will not dispute any of the positive comments; I believe it is very good because I got it at the suggestion of the piano teacher. I have no idea. I just want to point out my dissatisfaction as a consumer because I did not find instructions in Greek and absolutely no instructions for cleaning and maintenance. And it bothers me that it doesn't have a "key cover." You might say, "you can solve it with a small cloth," but unfortunately, it's not the same. And then I spend 600 euros or more for my child to have a "piano simulation" and to have additional features; I consider it excessive

At 400 euros, it is a quite affordable solution for someone to start their studies/hobby. It has 88 keys like a classic/upright piano, and its keys are weighted, which will greatly help in developing finger strength and accuracy.

So let's move on to the positives:
    - It has a built-in metronome.
    - It comes with a medium-quality sustain pedal, but good enough to start (Essential for playing about 99% of all pieces).
    - It offers a free 3-month subscription to Flowkey (It is the best piano learning program for theory and technique; if there is no possibility for lessons, more here: https://www.flowkey.com/en/yamaha).
    - The music stand is included in the package.
    - Easy and informative manual to adjust the piano to your needs (Pressure levels, volume, tone).
    - The best quality and feel of keys you can find at this price.

    Now for the negatives:
    - Its built-in speakers are very good in the bass, but when you start going up to very high notes, the volume decreases due to the weakness of the speakers. This is easily solved with external speakers.
    - To connect headphones or speakers, you need an adapter, the so-called "jack" that amplifiers use, but it's not a big deal since the "jack" costs 3-10 euros depending on what you get and where.
    - The stand (Yamaha L-85) is very expensive; it's better to prefer an X-shaped stand or buy the piano, measure, and make your own stand with wood and easily save around 50 euros.
    - It does not support 3 pedals due to a small processor; if a triple pedal is a must for you, prefer the corresponding piano of higher price, the p-125.
    - It has up to 64 notes polyphony, but if you are a beginner, it is most likely that you won't notice any difference even in your 3-4 years of lessons.
    - You cannot record unless you have a VST program or get an external microphone.

In summary, the Yamaha P-45 is the best electric piano you will find with a budget of 400-530 euros; if you can spend a little more money, prefer the P-125 or some model from Kurzweil (KA-90 or KA-130). If you cannot spend 400 euros and are somewhere around 300-350 euros, check out the Casio CDP-130.

    Happy shopping and good practice!!!

EDIT 22/04/2020: I have now hit its limits; forget pieces like Moonlight Sonata 3rd movement and Chopin Etude Op 10 No 4, also pieces that have octaves in scale form. The movement and return of the keys are very slow for this use, and you will create bad muscle memory in your hands, which will cause problems. If you reach a higher level, please do not go for an electric piano; you will make your life difficult. Prefer a used upright piano.

A decent and affordable option for beginners. I bought it along with the accompanying Yamaha L-85 keyboard stand.

On the positive side, the sustain pedal, the built-in metronome that is adjustable via a function key and keys numbered from 0 to 9, and the headphone jack so you can play without disturbing roommates or neighbors. The headphone jack is not the standard one used by mobile phones but the larger one often found in audio systems, so you will need an adapter ("plug").

On the negative side, the sound quality sometimes seems lacking to me. It may also be influenced by the fact that its speakers are not particularly powerful (2x6W). If this concerns you, it might be worth considering external speakers or the higher - and more expensive - model, P-115, which has significantly louder speakers, better piano sampling (Pure CF Sound Engine), supports recording, and greater polyphony (192 instead of 64).

First piano I bought, very good in my opinion, it has many settings on its own such as metronome, other instruments as well as USB connection for use with VST programs. I would definitely recommend it.

agorf
