Description

In this volume, children will read three of Oscar Wilde's most beautiful children's stories: The Happy Prince, The Selfish Giant, and The Nightingale and the Rose, illustrated by Dimitra Psyhogiou.

The Selfish Giant
The Selfish Giant wants to enjoy his beautiful garden all by himself. When he returns to his castle after a long journey, he angrily chases away the children playing in it. From that moment on, however, winter freezes all the trees and flowers, until the day the giant receives an unexpected kiss from a little boy. Then everything changes...
A beautiful fairy tale that shows us that all the good things in the world are worth nothing when our hearts are empty and frozen.

The Happy Prince
When the Happy Prince was alive, nothing disturbed his carefree life. But one day, the prince stopped living. Then the rulers of the city made him a beautiful statue made of gold and precious stones and placed it in the highest point of the city. This way, the prince began to see from above all the unhappiness and pain of his people. When a swallow landed on his feet to rest, he begged it to stay with him as long as it needed to help his people, alleviating their pain and unhappiness. How will he manage to do this? And what will be the price for both him and the swallow?

The Nightingale and the Rose
A lovestruck student believes that he will win his beloved's heart only if he gives her a red rose that she has asked for. But it is winter and the red rosebush will not bloom. A nightingale who sees the student suffering for love is so moved that she decides to do everything she can to help him. This nightingale believes that love is the most precious thing in the world and is worth every sacrifice...
