The topic will present and highlight the absence of a specific geopolitical analysis aimed at the national strategic planning for the Cyprus issue, from the perspective of the Athens-Nicosia axis. The research will initially focus on the overall picture of geopolitical rearrangements, such as: 1) the emerging geopolitical dynamics that Russia gains in the Arctic Zone due to the phenomenon of melting ice, as a result of climate change, 2) the power distribution rearrangements in the broader Middle East in favor of Moscow and Beijing, but to the detriment of Turkey. Furthermore, this analysis will attempt to highlight the unaddressed international crimes, to which the appropriate significance was not attributed by the Greek Cypriot side, nor were corresponding sanctions forcefully demanded by the international community against the perpetrator, namely Turkey. Especially since the negotiations process has begun between the President of the Republic of Cyprus and the "representative" of the pseudo-state in the occupied territories of northern Cyprus. The aforementioned actions and omissions in terms of policy planning for the resolution of the Cyprus issue deprive Hellenism of strong negotiating tools and equate the victim with the perpetrator. Under these circumstances, any negotiations between the Republic of Cyprus and the unlawful "representatives" of the occupied territories of northern Cyprus lack legitimacy and condemn Hellenism to gradual retreat, leading to annihilation. Given the demographic changes caused by external factors, which are rapidly occurring on the island, the prospect of Hellenism's disappearance is clear and threatening. To address the aforementioned deficiencies and gaps regarding the existence of coordinated Strategic Planning, the rapporteur will propose the establishment of an institutional body under the name "National Institute of Mediterranean Geographical and Geopolitical Studies/N.I.ME.GE.ME" as well as an Academic Department of Geography and Geopolitics at a Cypriot University, always with its approval through the competent Services of the Ministry of Education.
