Vasiliki Ralli enthused the reading public with her spontaneous and sincere writing, starting from her first book "Unforgettable Homeland. Asia Minor" (Akritas 1995). There, through the adventures of her own family (Maragou), she brings to life the glory and passions of the Moschonissiot and Ayvaliot Hellenism, who, after the Asia Minor Catastrophe, sought refuge in Therma Mytilene. There, in 1959, now married to Angelos Rallis, she realizes, with his unwavering support, the baptism of her mother (her father had been lost during their uprooting from Moschonissi) to build the chapel of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary on a field that had been granted to them by the State, in the location of Karyes. Exactly on that hill of Karyes, where there was an ancient pilgrimage of the Panagia, during the excavation of the foundations of the chapel, the ruins of the old Monastery are revealed, where the three Saints and the other witnesses of this narrative acted. And from here begins the wonderful and paradoxical story of the visions, where the Saints accurately indicate, primarily to the author but also to others, ordinary people, mainly from Therma, the remains and monuments that will constitute the sacred occasion for the establishment of the great pilgrimage of present-day Lesbos: the Holy Monastery of Saints Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene. Today, her book completes, summarizes, and organizes the oral tradition of the inhabitants of Therma regarding the sacred matter of Karyes and covers the events that date from the discovery of the holy remains (1959) until the first period of the operation of their Holy Monastery (1975).
