The processor Intel Core i7-6850K is aimed at professional users and individual users who need high performance for demanding applications such as video editing, graphic design, data analysis, and gaming.
This processor features 6 cores and 12 threads and supports Intel Hyper-Threading technology, which accelerates performance in multi-threaded applications. Additionally, this processor has 15MB of cache memory and supports Intel's Turbo Boost technology, which increases the processor's operating frequency to improve performance when needed.
Furthermore, the processor supports Intel Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology, which identifies the highest performing core in the system and allows it to operate at even higher frequencies. All these features make the Intel Core i7-6850K a powerful processor aimed at demanding users.
Specifications are collected from official manufacturer websites. Please verify the specifications before proceeding with your final purchase. If you notice any problem you can report it here.
Overclocking 4.5 Ghz! With Asus Strix X99 Gaming motherboard, liquid cooling, and 32GB G.Skill DDR4 3200Mhz memory, it's perfect. Incredibly fast, it doesn't lag anywhere. Six cores for many tasks.
Overclocked at 4.2 GHz with a Noctua NH-D15S with a second fan, and the results are as follows:
- AIDA64 CPU&FPU (together) Stress test: 55 to 60 degrees Celsius on the cores, with a power consumption of 145W.
- Passmark Performance Test CPU Mark: 16918
- Cinebench R15: 1325
In other words, it outperforms even the 1000€ 5960X!
The above was achieved on an Asrock Fatal1ty X99 Professional Gaming i7, with SM951 256GB and 64GB RAM.
I highly recommend it without hesitation.
Awesome processor for enthusiast users, but Intel fools us with power consumption as soon as you play around with overclocking, it draws as much power as the previous generation Haswell E. AIO watercooling or custom is recommended, even better. With Corsair 110i gt 4.3 GHz easily, but ABOVE 1.32V WITH 1.35V for 4.4 GHz we reach 1.420 volts and temperatures rise above 86°C, which is not suitable for 24/7 use, depending on the component you achieve. If you are on the previous generation Haswell E or even the pre-previous one, the upgrade is not worth the money. Wait until summer 2017 when the PCIe protocols and the speed of the PCI lanes will change. If you are only into gaming, don't even take the step for an upgrade, the 1150 or 1151 platform is still the best choice in terms of performance to price ratio! You can easily set up a hackintosh while the Broadwell E are still new... for such things. It's better to get an Nvidia 1070 GTX or 1080 GTX graphics card.
very good processor
