I consider my purchase of the EPSON V600 to be successful, initially. I am a professional photographer and I have a huge collection of negatives of various formats (135, 6X4.5, 6X6, etc.) as well as slides, which needed to be digitized in order to preserve them. Many of them have already suffered significant damage, especially in terms of color. So, about a month ago, I started scanning them with the V600. The average scanning time for a 135 frame is about 30 to 40 seconds at a resolution of 3,200 dpi. To put it differently, it takes about 60 to 90 minutes to complete the digitization of a 36-frame film, including the loading and unloading of the strips, which are usually cut. However, things change dramatically when it comes to individual slides that need to be placed in sets of four on the carrier that comes with the scanner, and even more so when they are placed in the special clips that we used to project them with projectors.

These were the negatives of the scanner...

However, I was impressed by the color correction it performs (if you choose correction), which is very good to the point that most photos do not require additional editing with an image editing program.

For years now, I have been a user of this particular film scanner and I am completely satisfied. At this price, you won't find anyone else offering this quality of scanning and so many features. The only complaint is about the film holders, which don't close properly when the film gets "stuck". Also, when scanning with the provided EpsonScan, disable sharpening. You will get results with a greater dynamic range, and you can sharpen afterwards with a photo editing program. EpsonScan offers very good scanning quality without complicated options. You can get even better results with SilverFast, but it is expensive and more complex compared to EpsonScan.

For those who don't want to spend a fortune on a film scanner, this is the best choice. It scans small and medium formats.

When the negatives are not exactly in the dimensions of the frame, a patent is needed, especially in medium format. The 35mm is fine. I scanned over 2000 negatives relatively quickly. It is slow, of course, in high resolutions and with Digital Ice, but it is logical.

θελω να σκαναρω πολλα φιλμ που εχω. Μπορειτε να μου προτεινετε τις βελτιστες ρυθμίσεις για ποιοτητα και ταχυτητα?

Ακόμα τον μαθαίνω και έχει πάρα πολλά για να μάθεις. Σε καμία περίπτωση μην χρησιμοποιηθεί το αυτόματο σύστημα αφαίρεσης κόκκων και σκόνης. Ούτε το «βελτιστοποίηση εικόνας». Υπήρχαν φορές που μου έκλεισε (εξαφάνισε) ολόκληρο το μάτι. Εξαφανίζει ή θολώνει πράγματα κατά το δοκούν. Σε άλλες απλά θόλωνε την εικόνα. Φυσικά όσο σε πιο πολλά DPI, τόσο πιο αργή σάρωση. Προσωπικά χρησιμοποιώ 300 για τις κλασικές φωτογραφίες, 450 για κάτι πολύ παλιές μικρές και 1400 για film. Αν θέλει κάποιος επεξεργασία, να την κάνει με photoshop και όχι με της πλάκας το λογισμικό που σου δίνει η Epson. Αν είναι σε καλή κατάσταση το film, η σάρωση γίνεται πάρα πολύ καλή, σε σημείο που δεν το καταλαβαίνεις ότι σάρωσες film, αλλά νομίζεις ότι σάρωσες φωτογραφία. Σε γενικές γραμμές, θέλει να δεις video στο youtube, όπου χρησιμοποιούν γάντια και σπρέι ή άλλα μέσα για να αφαιρούν την σκόνη. Προσωπικά απλά φροντίζω να μην ακουμπάω ποτέ το film, παρά μόνο στις άκρες και έχω και ένα πανάκι από αυτό που δίνουν οι οπτικοί όταν αγοράζεις γυαλιά, για να καθαρίσω κάποιο film που ήταν σε κακή κατάσταση. Τέλος, προσοχή, ΔΕΝ σαρώνει στα άκρα. Στην προσπάθειά μου, να είναι κεντραρισμένη και ισορροπημένη η φωτογραφία, την έβαζα σε κάποια γωνία. Αργότερα διαπίστωσα ότι της «έτρωγε» ένα κομμάτι. Τελικά έχω βάλει μία κάρτα τραπέζης στη γωνία, που είναι σκληρή και κεντράρω εύκολα σε άλλο σημείο τις φωτογραφίες. Με τα film δεν υπάρχει πρόβλημα στο κεντράρισμα. Να μην ξεχάσω ότι πάντα, μία προς μία, σε κάθε φωτογραφία ή film θα πρέπει πρώτα να γίνει προεπισκόπηση και μετά σάρωση. Αν διαβάσει σε μία φωτογραφία κάτι στραβό, π.χ. φωτισμό, υπάρχει πιθανότητα να το κάνει σε όλες από εκεί και πέρα. Το έπαθα. Για αυτό πρώτα προεπισκόπηση. Το πρόγραμμα δεν είναι και τόσο καλό και μερικές φορές κόλλησε, μετά από πολλές σαρώσεις και έπρεπε απλά να το ανοιγοκλείσω.

Το αγόρασα το φθινόπωρο και σκανάρισα εκτός από φωτογραφίες και αρνητικά φίλμ κάθε είδους χωρίς πρόβλημα αν και χρειάστηκε να κάνω κάποια πατέντα με χαρτόνι για να προσαρμόσω τα φίλμ μεσαίου μεγέθους. Εύκολο στην χρήση, τρέχει κάτω από windows 10 και δεν μετάνοιωσα για τα λεφτά που έδωσα.
